Hello, I just had a look at some streets in London, I know well. I discovered a small mistake there: in Mayfair - Charles Street is not connected South Audley Street and Tilney Street. It just turnes into Waverton. Where the crossing is mapped, there is South Audley Square. I tried to correct it, but I could not cut Charles Street, but I added Red Lion Yard.Could someone with more experience than I do have, please amend this problem?

This is the easiest method to get what you want with Potlatch. It also works the same with JOSM. When attempting to break up a way, or in this case a street, at a point that it shares with another way then it is necessary to first click on the way itself and then, while also depressing the "Shift" key and then click on the node that you want to break up the way at. While pressing the "Shift" key you can collect a number of nodes and/or ways while not using the "Shift" key only remembers the last way or node you used. One the way is separated you can edit the data for the incorrect street easily.

If you come along to one of the London Mapping Evening, you can get some tuition on how to do the editing. osm.wiki/index.php/London/Summer_2008_Mapping_Party_Marathon

Thanks for the comments. I will try to follow the hint from rtdg. I am afraid, I will not be able to come to the London mapping evening, as I am living in Germany. But I am often staying at the club on Audley Square, therefore I know this part of London well and found the mistake ( almost by coincedence). Perhaps, if I have not been able to correct the mistake, you can talk about it on the evening?
