What is your justification for changing Highway 287 to "primary" from "trunk"

In OSM "gravel" usually refers to what we in the US might think of as railway ballast (~3 inch rocks). A better tag might be surface=compacted or surface=fine_gravel

I agree with Tom, please limit the geographic extent of your changesets

These mechanical edits should be discussed on the official OSM mailing list.

Thanks for your reply!

Ah... ok, I understand your intent now.

I would map the drive through separately, tag as building=roof. I don't think you need a layer=* tag on it, as it is assumed that the roof is off of the ground except for its supports.

@oulenyang
thanks for your considerate response.

Good to hear that these edits were individually reviewed, that is the safest manner in which to go about this.

Regarding changeset bounding box size, I couldn't find anything on the wiki about it. It has been a general understand among some (but obviously not all) in the community that smaller is better if possible. To split into smaller changesets geographically you might load in all of your candidate objects to JOSM, use the select tool to select all in suitably sized region, add them to the todo list, step through, upload, repeat. There could be better ways, but off the top of my head, that is how I might do it.

Regardless of the large bounding box, this looks like an edit that would fall under: osm.wiki/Automated_Edits_code_of_conduct, and as such should have been discussed with the community on the mailing list before taking place. If it was discussed and I missed it, my apologies.

Thanks for continuing to edit OpenStreetMap. I am not sure what is going on, but many of the buildings you are creating are still not showing up with square corners. Perhaps try zooming in closer when you are drawing the building.

Hello, thanks for the edits.

What is the meaning of layer=1 on osm.org/way/361995745?

This implies that the whole building is raised off the ground, which isn't the case.

Perhaps you were trying to indicate the number of levels or floors in the building:

Yes, please keep the geographic extent of your changesets to a more reasonable size, such as a few neighborhoods.

Agree with habi and Allison P. Yes, welcome, but a little more care in the future is called for too.

Thanks for the further edits. A meadow in OSM is "an area of land primarily vegetated by grass plus other non-woody plants, mainly used for hay (meadow) or for grazing animals (pasture).", the area you tagged as a meadow is might be better tagged as landuse=grass.

Thanks for the reply and for agreeing to add more descriptive changeset comments, it will make OSM even better.

BTW, good to hear that Komito Boots is still there. Steve Komito is a great guy and one needs climbing shoes resoled, he is the one to see!

Hi, thanks for the edits! It would be very helpful if you could add a more descriptive changeset comment rather than "Not Reported", for reference: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments

Hi, Thanks for the edits. In the future, please restrict each changeset to a reasonably sized geographic area. This changeset spans a large part of the US making it difficult to review.

We could just delete the features individually.
