https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/search?q=type
Ähnlich bei sales :
https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/search?q=sales

"after discussion on the Tagging list" implies that there was a consensus, but there wasn't any. It was rather said that "We all map our personal preference and hobbies" :

Usually motorcycle shops got websites and if they do I also add the link. I think information provided by the proprietor may be transformed into tagging, or is this also disputed ? If so, the copyright page should probably be more detailed :

Especially this one :

As it would be very dumb of them to keep it secret if they got such a professional homepage ? How can I make sure they don't sell weed besides ? This would probably not be on the homepage, I admit.

That's a lot of text for saying nothing.
Do you mean addresses are copyright protected ? Or that it's forbidden to add infomation that proprietors provide on their homepage or facebook page ?

As you're so keen on the copyright subject, this might be interesting to you :

This is the english version :

Switch on the shops using the scooter icon, zoom in

Oops, didn't pay attention to this.
Opening hours would also be interesting.
The data appears here, for example :

(Brand will appear soon, when the data is refreshed).
OsmAnd is also about to implement motorcycle POIs

I didn't remove any tag, I just switched from amenity to aeroway. There were 9 tags before and now it's the same.

47405988 over 8 years ago

Yes, that's a problem I wanted to solve.
Both ways were invented in 2010 (see history), but no one took action since then to clarify this. IMHO it's better to keep it simple, which means as much as possible in a single entry, not with additional keys if it's not necessary. But as long as there are only complaints about "missing discussion", without constructive input, I don't feel motivated for further data quality improvement.
Feel free for any proposals.

I talked to the data consumers (which weren't consuming the "service" tags up to now). The major problem were the "motorcycle_repair" tags, which have also been "invented" without proper discussion, see osm.wiki/Talk:Tag:shop%3Dmotorcycle_repair
I'm aware about the "automated edit" problem, but it it doesn't apply in this case.
I sure won't do such a change again.

Would you please add your concerns to the discussion page ? (So everyone may add his/her point of view) :
