@giggls as in France, probably Europe in general. Some albums are used too, but that’s less common.

You may also indicate which status has the name:en : In Breton language, the name:br is used in conjunction with source:name:br osm.wiki/FR:Key:name:br

Same for possible alternative names of course. ofis publik ar brezhoneg is the only value specific to this language I think.

Giving the rules for the creation in the OSM database of this name has removed most if not all edition conflicts (Breton has several variants, and knowing the origin of the name was useful: standard name, local name, etc…).

Value Description
survey When the contributor makes a physical move in the field and enters in the name:br what he sees on a street sign, directional sign, etc., the name:br will be displayed.
ofis publik ar brezhoneg When the contributor uses only a toponym or odonym from the KerOfis or TermOfis databases of the Office public de la langue bretonne / Ofis publik ar brezhoneg (OPAB) as a source for the commune concerned.
public local authority To be used in cases where a name is not listed by the OPAB, but found in local official signage or local administrative acts.
local knowledge To be used in cases where a name is not listed in a public source, but is in common local usage.
proper translation To be used in cases where the name is not covered by the other cases above, and is therefore developed by translation/adaptation at the initiative of the contributor.
copied from name Use when the name displayed on an object or building is in standard Breton (peurunvan). same as name is ambiguous, but still used.
