I have reverted this, changed it to a track and added access=private to indicate that it is not a right of way so will not be used by routers or map users.
That way it will not be incorrectly replaced as a right of way and is useful a navigational point.

If it 'looks like a farmers track to fields' then it is visible and should be mapped and tagged as access=private. As it appears on OS maps is there any point hiding it on OSM?

Hi, welcome to OSM. Thank you for you contribution, however it looks like a strange place to find a playground and I cannot see one on bing imagery, did you intend it to be something else?

Hi, thank you for your edit however are you sure they are all bookmakers? Did you visit them to check?
Ladbrookes operate casinos as well as bookmakers, therefore edits such as this require an on the ground survey.

Great thank you

Hi, welcome to OSM.
Something has gone a little wrong here, are you saying that the pub has closed and that it has become a Costa. If so the amenity=pub needs to be changed to amenity=cafe.
If you need any help with this, please give me a shout.

Hi, welcome to OSM and thank you for your contribution.
One small issue, I imagine that the guest house is the nearby building?
It is normal to place the node inside the building, and preferable to tag the building with the the guest house tags, rather than create a separate node.
Give me a shout if you need any help.

Hi, welcome to OSM.
Is the name of this road really Fidlers Lane (Private)? That seems very unlikely.
If there are access restrictions then those should be used, such as motor_vehicle=private, foot=yes, bicycle=yes maybe.

Hi
I assume the bridleway should connect to Horse Hill and is not a dead end here?

Please try to keep edits to a sensible area, this would be much nicer if it had been two separate change sets.

Hi
Welcome to OSM.
The correct way to tag a closed pub, that still looks like a pub, is to change the tag to disused:amenity=pub rather that add closed to the name.
Nice edit though, have fun editing OSM.

Is your business really located inside Access Storage, seems unlikely to me.

Sorry, you cannot copy from google images either.

38394686 over 9 years ago

Hi
You are correct, you must not look at google maps to confirm the location. The preferred way of contributing to openstreetmap is to visit the locations and if necessary take photos yourself, although if you have visited then you memory would be good enough. The businesses concerned can obviously add their locations from local knowledge.
There is http://www.mapillary.com/ which contains photos which you can use, but so far it is fairly limited.
Some things can be mapped remotely from bing aerial imagery which is included in osm editors, such as woodland, water, buildings, hedges but shops do need a lot of legwork to map them properly.

In this case the address given on the menu is not sufficient to locate an individual business, particularly on a long road such as this. You should be aware that copying from copyright sources such as google maps is absolutely against the rules. These are pointed out in osm.org/copyright, osm.org/welcome and osm.wiki/Beginners_Guide_1.1.
I quote "OSM contributors are reminded never to add data from any copyrighted sources (e.g. Google Maps or printed maps) without explicit permission from the copyright holders."
Any contributions which we suspect have contravened these rules should be reverted.
As an aside the website tag should contain the url of the business, which this one has, rather than to a 3rd party listing site.

Hi, welcome to OSM.
Your edits seem to be over a very wide area, I doubt you have visited them all.
What is the source of these edits? how did you know exactly where these take aways are located?
Thanks Phil

Permissive access is unusual on a residential road, what actual signage is there to say this? Do I really need permission to even walk down this road?
On bing I can see a connection to Main Road, what has changed here? Is there really no pedestrian connectivity?

Hi, welcome to OSM.
You seem to have left Dinch Hill Lane as a inaccessible 'island'. On bing imagery I can see road connections to both Main Road and Dancing Hill.
Have there been changes since the imagery? Is Dinch Hill Lane really totally disconnected from Main Road? Maybe that section should be a footway or cycleway?
If you need any help, just ask.

I have reverted this change, Ride with GPS is not using OSM for routing.
OSM routing is accessed by the routing button to the right of the search box.

Please can you point me to the discussion about these mass edits and how you see it a a typo?
The space separator is optional, consumers are able to handle speed limits in either format.
Are you able to point me to a time when an OSM based satnav has given you misleading information due to there not being a space?
