Hi I’m a new user from Linz, Austria. My main interest would be in documenting and mapping art in architecture (as soon as I get a hold of the functionality of adding stuff to OSM). Old housing complexes get demolished frequently and with them the murals that sometimes decorate the outside are lost forever. It is worth documenting these sites before they are gone.

A major problem at the moment is that OSM seems to load bigger cities quite qickly (Cardiff, Berlin), but with smaller cities like Linz and even when loading Vienna, zooming in on a street can cause the map to get stuck with blank, grey fields and/or highly pixelated areas that just do not finish loading properly at all.

Is there some way to get around this issue?

Second question: How can I add murals and art in architecture along with photos?

Hi, can I suggest you take a screenshot of the problem, upload it to imgur.com or similar and post it here?

For displaying the map from openstreetmap.org sometimes things might be busy and things don’t load quickly. I would try again another time. You should be able to add things no problem though.

Sadly there is no way of adding photos to openstreetmap.

For adding possibly look at adding tourism=artwork

osm.wiki/Tag:tourism=artwork And building:architecture= osm.wiki/Key:building:architecture

Hi GinazoZ and Rovastar,

thank you for your responses! Here is a link to the screenshot . Not really a “glitch”, but it actually never completed loading the map when I try finding a street in Linz, Austria.

I’m not saying it sometimes doesn’t work, it actually never works to load OSM for Linz anytime I try.

PS.: Rovastar, I will try adding infos and photos as you suggested, thank you!
