Walked it today ; it's all newly rerouted with wooden fences on either side. No idea why this had to be done. HTH

Good point about the errors; had forgotten this would throw up bridge issues.

Yes, sidewalk left/right will solve the problem but as with most cities & large towns routes are becoming more of an issue and plotters are having to

resort to extra highways to indicate where the path deviates from the main road and where you can cross to enable active routing on a mobile/gps.

The problem affects A & trunk roads in particular.

Will check this out.

It's an osm way of showing a preferred route when no physical path has been established ; there are quite a few of them in Devon; often used when highways are plotted as polygons, ie pedestrian, platforms

Hi

I wondered what happened to my previous foot = no ;)

I used it to ensure, as happened today, that my gps doesn't route me via a roundabout.

I added the adjacent paths some time ago to create maps designed for pedestrians, not just cyclists and motorists.

To add food=yes to a path seems a bit of a tautology .
