OpenStreetMap
While updating Mobile Track Explorer i bumped into OSM in its source and thought i'd might check it out. The idea is great and also it's great to know that so many people have already contributed their time into such an effort.
It seems that there are some blank areas in the map near where i live, so i might give it a try in a near future. And my parents' hometown is completely unmapped, that will be a bigger challenge.
I'm really looking forward to this, i've always wanted to do something similar, but never had the guts ;)

I was actually thinking up of an idea like this but had no idea how to implement it but found this luckily!
my motivation is the fact satnav's map's are always horribly out of date and mostly inaccurate (in many places in wales)
But yes its highly addictive, I'm sure my fuel bills having been going up to go out ot of my way to add more things...And nothing to do with the increase in diesel prices of the last few months
