Mysterious Object in China found | xinduqiao is a prison factory, you can see several walled off areas in town. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_prisons_in_Sichuan It’s probably a message for the town or the prisoners. “0 days since last lost time accident” |

Alaska / BC border is obviously messed up. | if it helps, I double checked the Georgia straight, and those navigation points appeared ok. |

Alaska / BC border is obviously messed up. | Could someone double check this before we fix the boundary? osm.org/browse/way/192178744 |

I tried to upload a gpx, and got to a point where I could edit with the waypoints on the screen. I’ll leave the data here for now. It’s clear the portland canal should only have 28 markers in it. |

Alaska / BC border is obviously messed up. | The official coordianates are listed at http://internationalboundarycommission.org/products.html#coordinates How do we convert Nad27 or nad 83 into a format that osm can import as a gps track? |

Jordan brand retro 4s bred for sale 2012 | The idiot spammers are wasting their time because these web pages are tagged with ‘no follow’ to prevent search engines from following links. |

The disadvantages of copying other people's maps |
regarding another Sandy Island which had wikipedia editors confused, why doesn’t the Lacepede’s Sandy Island render on OSM? osm.org/browse/way/187645473 is it because it’s from Oct 25? |

Bike routes | and notes on how to tag cycle networks. osm.wiki/Key:ncn#Tagging_Cycle_Route_Networks |

Bike routes | Also, http://cycling.waymarkedtrails.org/en/ will show bike routes. |
|
Bike routes | here’s a link to the transcanada trail http://tctrail.ca/explore-the-trail/ which runs through winnipeg. |
|
Bike routes | for the non signed routes, you can go with ‘lcn=proposed’ it will render as a dashed line in open cyclemap after a few weeks. I used to put lcn=yes on ways, but lately, for longer routes with names, I’ve been using the relation editor. |

Editing Kinmundy, Il, USA for accuracy | If you map it as ‘highway = service and as a private access driveway, gps devices will be smart enough to not use the road for routing. It probably got onto the tiger maps because it was a long driveway that looked like a rural road. Here’s what private roads look like on the map. osm.org/?lat=49.22943&lon=-122.75923&zoom=16&layers=M |

surprising coicidence | For me, normal cars use road=minor. Jeeps, logging trucks, farm tractors and all terrain vehicles can use Tracks. A lot of tracks are turned into bridleways or cycleways. For example, you can have a service road on top of a dyke, mostly used as a bike path, but service vehicles will use it if they need to access the dyke for maintenance. My guess, it that you may have tracks on the flat terrain with vehicles prohibited, with footpaths in the rocks of the crater rim. I’m assuming the geography is due to being an impact crater. |
|
surprising coicidence | Well, it looks like someone was there with a GPS, as there are is a gps track. |
|
calculate ways instead of drawing or: a look at "average tracks" | It looks like averaging tracks based on what your eyes see is likely a better solution. When I average tracks by hand, I tend to go with the points where two tracks intersect. Looking at your graphs, the algorithm needs some work. |
|
Canvec Data | Best of luck. You may find that the imported data overlaps over user added data. Only thing I noticed with Canvec is that some of the railway data can be off. |
|
Less roads == better data? | Another place to convert ‘highway=residential’ to track would be in the Desert areas so that tourists dont get routed on 4 wheel drive tracks. |
