Andy from OSM’s Data Working Group here. We’ve received a report that you may be using data that isn’t compatible with OSM’s licence to update OSM.

As an example, on osm.org/changeset/136132363 you have added a tag “source=GoogleMaps”. We will remove data that appears to have been added in this way, and will redact it from the database.

In a couple of other cases people have asked you what source was used. These questions will have been emailed to you and can also be seen at https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-discussion-comments?uid=10744339 . Please do answer those questions. If it turns out that the source used in these cases and others was most likely not compatible, then we will have to revert / redact the data there too.

Finally, you may have seen that on a changeset comment I drew your attention to https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Organised_Editing_Guidelines . Please do read those, and if they do apply to you, follow them.

I’ve sent this message as one that you have to read before continuing to edit. If you ignore the questions then we will be forced to block you for longer.
