As I received no response to the Private Message that I sent you, I now have to advise that a temporary block has been placed on your OSM account.

Repeating what I said previously:

“It has been brought to our attention that your user page osm.org/user/E%20Goldstein, where you discuss mapping street surveillance cameras, says: “My sources: ~85% google streetview”.

It is one of the basic principles of OSM that no data may be copied from any copyrighted source, in particular Google Maps / Streetview, without express approval being received in advance, as this could hold OSM open for legal action.

If you have in fact done this, we hereby request that you immediately delete any camera locations that you have added in this way, and do not map this way in future.”

Once you have read this note, you will again be able to log-in and continue mapping in OSM.

However, if we have not heard from you with the required explanations by 5 January, further action may have to be taken.
