Hello GPSMAP67,
As I said in osm.org/user_blocks/15570 I’ve asked the complainants for advice about what to do next. In reply I’ve got back concerns that you’ll return to the same style of mapping that caused problems in the first place - really poor quality landuse (“colouring in” rough areas vaguely green, overlapping inappropriate landuse and buildings etc.), not taking care to square buildings, not taking care to compare imagery offset etc. We’ve now tidied up quite a lot, but there is still more to do - individual mappers are still doing that now.
What this means is that you’ll need to assure everyone that you will use far more care and attention when mapping in the future. You’ll also need to promise that you won’t behave in the offensive way that you have in the past (see e.g. some of your previous comments https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-discussion-comments?uid=16720371&commented ). You also need to apologise to other mappers in the UK for the problems you have caused. You can do that by posting to the talk-gb mailing list (https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-gb has “how to subscribe”; you’ll also want to identify yourself as osm.org/user/GPSMAP67 ).
When you’ve done that, if it looks like you mean it, we’ll revoke this block - but after that if we get further reports of problems (even just of poor mapping) we’ll apply another block.
Best Regards,
Andy Townsend, on behalf of OSM’s Data Working Group.
