Dear Rupert,

yesterday I sent you a message with the following content:

— start quote — Dear Rupert,

we have had a number of complaints from the community in Wales saying that your task https://tasks.hotosm.org/projects/17206 hit them without any prior discussion or even announcement, and that major cleanup work is necessary after unsuspecting users contribute low-quality data following that task.

Please do the following: 1. If this has not already happened, immediately suspend this task. 2. Discuss your plans with the UK community on the OSM forum, including the exact wording used in the task, the sources used, and how suggestions for participating mappers are created. 3. If the community is happy with the plan, you can re-activate the task (after modifications if the discussions have yielded improvements).

Please do the same for every other task you plan to create in the future, of course replacing “UK community” with the relevant local community, to avoid similar issues in the future.

Thank you
Frederik Ramm

It appears that you have not suspended the task in question, and instead performed edits in that task yourself in osm.org/changeset/156086412. Perhaps my email has not reached you, but this message will, as you will not be able to edit before reading it.

Please understand that this is a serious issue; continuing to ride roughshod over the OSM community will tarnish not only your but also HOT’s reputation in OpenStreetMap. Failure to comply with our requests will lead to participating accounts being blocked and edits reverted.

Thank you Frederik
