Dear users Peter Agenga, muindre, Kitone, and fondolucy:
You seem to be involved in the same mapping project. All of you habve recently been adding data in the general area of Nairobi, using tags that are unusual in OpenStreetMap. We don’t know why you chose to add these tags, but we suspect it might be the result of some mapping project or exercise. If so, we’d like to speak to whoever leads the project or who has provided instructions to you - could you please ask them to contact data@osmfoundation.org for a discussion?
Another user has made you aware of the tagging problems e.g. here osm.org/changeset/58550664 but in spite of these messages you have continued using tags that make no sense in OpenStreetMap. This lets us assume that you might not read notifications sent to you by the changeset comment system (these are sent to your sign-up email address). Hence this blocking message which forces you to read it before you can continue.
In the future, if someone sends you a message about your mapping, please don’t simply ignore it - respond directly, or escalate the message to whoever your instructor or project leader is.
You can continue editing immediately after reading this, however please stop using tags like those mentioned in the changeset discussion above (and there are many more non-standard tags like “Gender”, “Governement_registered”, “Name_of_operating_organization”, “Operator_type”, “Type_001” etc.). You have to find proper tags for this data to be of any use in OpenStreetMap; useless tags will likely be removed by other mappers.
Thank you
Frederik Ramm
