Dear VLD165

we expect that members of the Facebook editing team receive thorough and excellent training on contributing to OpenStreetMap. Yet in

osm.org/way/867078718

you have contributed an vague polygonal object that overlaps several populated places and existing polygons, tagged with “forest=yes” (a completely unusual tag in OSM) and “layer=2”.

This is wrong in so many ways that even a minimal OpenStreetMap training would have told you not to do it. Many more of your recent edits across the world are of the same quality.

We will have to revert these edits. Given that Facebook is a powerful contributor to OpenStreetMap and the internal QA process has catastrophically failed in this situation, we’re also formally asking the Facebook team to investigate this case and explain to us how it happened and what steps they are implementing to avoid future mistakes like this.

Thank you
Frederik Ramm
