Dear NorthwestPAmapper,

in four recent changesets:

osm.org/changeset/112099146 osm.org/changeset/112099357 osm.org/changeset/112098738 osm.org/changeset/112093729

you have deleted a whole lot of valid data from OSM. Each time, you did so with the misleading changeset comment “fixing tags”. “fixing tags” is not a valid description of an activity that deletes hundreds of existing ways.

In two of the four cases, other mappers have commented on your actions which has triggerd an E-Mail to you. That was 30 hours ago. 29 hours ago you were actively mapping, so these messages must have reached you.

Yet you have chosen not to comment on these changesets, and neither have you repaired the damage you caused.

In the future, please:

• refrain from deleting valid data; if you think that something should not be in OSM, seek prior discussion with the community
• if you do delete something, provide a proper changeset comment (“deleted X objects because Y as discussed on Z”)
• and if others point out to you that you have caused a problem, don’t ignore them.
