Hi curling man, I’m wondering if you missed this comment osm.org/changeset/134797806 because you’ve instead reported Russ, rather than responding about stepping back from this issue. Are you aware that the DWG reviews the “report this user” function?

Mapping abandoned railways is controversial and the wiki isn’t a book of laws, it’s a community guideline. I know Russ very well and he’s no vandal, just a guy who likes to map abandoned railroads. This block is to serve as two things, one: check your email and you will see the notification about the changeset comments. Two: stop messing with abandoned railroads. Just pick another thing to map.

You are free to open a dialog about abandoned railroads on one of the plethora of community forums for OSM (I know Russ is active on the main forums), but you are cautioned to avoid editing wars until the matter can be resolved by consensus.
