Hello EzekielT, We’ve had another complaint about country name changes that you’ve made recently.

Please don’t change country names without consulting the community first. In the case of countries where there is an active mapping community if you think a country name is wrong please make sure that you contact them via whatever list or forum they use to communicate between themselves. In the case of countries where there isn’t an active local community I’d suggest discussing it with the wider OSM community via one of the international lists.

Another reason to discuss changes such as this is because you may not appreciate the implications of your changes (like when you changed the admin levels of the countries in the UK without telling anyone).

Like the last one osm.org/user_blocks/899 , this is a message that you have to read before continuing to edit. Once you’ve read it you’ll be free to edit OpenStreetMap again - but more wastepaper baskets and bus stops and fewer undiscussed country=level changes please!
