Completed a new build of the Garmin Open Street Maps by Routiki application and updated the help page - http://www.routiki.com/garmin_help.html

Took advantage of a Christmas visit to my parent's in Somerset to map some more of Crewkerne and fill in some missing A roads.

On the way down I got the A357 between the A303 and A30, but it turned out somebody else had beaten me to that my a few days, but I still filled in the missing chunk of the A359 between the A303 and Yeovil so my strangely meandering route was not entirely pointless.

Some of the detail of Crewkerne was then filled in, along with some of the surrounding area, including the missing bit of the A3066 between the A30 and A356 to the east of Crewkerne.

Finally I manage to finish off the missing bits of A30 - the missing bits to the east of Crewkerne had recently been filled in but Crewkerne to Chard was still missing (or not as it turned out - all bar a few hundred meters was present but not tagged correctly).

two quite long sessions today. did the Rowlatts Hill estate in morning and then in the afternoon started on North Evington/Spinney Hills.

Frederik Ramm is giving a talk about OSM at 24C3 in a few hours and I am an excited little bunny!

And this after discovering that Berlin is depressingly well mapped, time to ask the local guys where to go mapping.

Just added some more roads in Cottenham, Cambridgeshire which were missing, including Brenda Gautrey Way, Sovereign Way, Paxton Close, Leopold Walk, Coolidge Gardens, Margett Street, Corbet Street, Telegraph Street, New Road and Millfield.

More walks around Marlborough yesterday has added to the area of the town now included on the map. I have uploaded these and also added a few post boxes, telephone boxes and footpaths. Lots to do still around Marlborough, but now I'm back home in Devon, so someone else will have to do it - when I'm up that way again I will hopefully be able to fill in anything still missing.

Dear Diary,

Today I went round a a friend's house, we walked round with my handheld GPS, uploaded some data, drew and labelled some roads then gave up trying to actually see the data on a map. Maybe it will appear in a matter of hours, a week or never. The documentation for this area is really shit.

around 18 miles mapping today. did two areas: in the morning the area around De Montfort University/Filbert Street/Freeman's Meadow/Bede Island South, and then in the afternoon the Davenport Road area and the roads around Humberstone Park.

Tuli sitten ajeltua kuhmoisiin ja takaisin ihan tarkoituksella. Matkalta jäi käteen oziexplorein polku. Otin Chaseboardini käyttöön ja testasin, miten jälki pysyy kasassa USB-väyläisellä Naviben Compass GPS-mokkulalla. Hyvinhän se pysyi. Itse läppärissä xport -niminen softa jakoi mokkulan dataa neljään virtuaalisarjaporttiin.

Tuli siis ajettua ja piirrettyä maantiet 322 ja 325. Tänään lisätessäni nuo loput ajamani tiet, Kuhmosten suuntaan ikäänkuin syntyi joku 20-30 järveä. Töissä on tylsää näin välipäivinä :)

GPS didn't work in the train from Heide to Husum and it only started to work outside Husum.

I used the time with my parents in Heide for some OSM. I generated some new tracks and found out that some people only upload their stuff without turning the tracks into streets. I gave my best to make use of them.

Early morning walks around the College Fields area of Marlborough mean that I can now complete that part of Marlborough residential area. The town has very little mapped so far, and this would be a great project for a local school to complete - maybe Marlborough College pupils could do it.

Nach längeren Wanderungen ist das letzte fehlende Stück zwischen Kornelimünster und Walheim jetzt erfasst. Leider habe ich durch einen Absturz des PDAs einige Kilometer an Tracks um/in Kornelimünster verloren. Aus diesen Grund ist der Wirtschaftsweg unter den Viaduct in Kornelimünster leider nicht erfasst.
