osm.org with a dark theme

I created a dark theme for my desktop environment (xfce) with a dark theme. My simple GreaseMonkey/TamperMonkey/VioletMonkey script is applied into the header, sidebars, panels and leaflet elements and partially into iD editor.

The Neighbourhood of “Villa Coronilla” in Cochabamba, Bolivia will be built based on:

I heard about this place for an article and reading the blog of photographer Kaupo Kikkas, he details some peculiarities:

Only detail he forgot was that this nice desert happens to be in Egypt. Country where local authorities are not too happy about such enthusiasm and spirit, specially if it comes from a crazy frenchmen…

Follow these steps to enable the recipe:

1. Use my ifttt recipe
2. Visit http://resultmaps.neis-one.org/newestosmcreatefeed
3. Click on the map to set your position
4. Select rectangle size [5, 10, 15, 50, 75 or 100km]
5. Copy your “Result-Feed-Link”

Torrential rain and floods in Bolivia have killed 38 people and left many homeless (42000 families). The Ministry of Defense said it had flown in food aid and the army was evacuating families from the worst affected regions, Trinidad City - department of Beni, Ixiamas - northeast of the capital La Paz and indigenous communities (Yuracaré people) on the banks of the Chapare River in the central department of Cochabamba.

With some time, I decided to improve the map of the city [1], railway station and the salt flat of Uyuni [2].

Uyuni

Uyuni is a city in the southwest of Bolivia [3]. It was founded to house the first largest railway station and major railway junction. Almost every road in the city are separated by a center field. Salt flat of Uyuni is the world’s largest salt flat with a pool of brine, which is exceptionally rich in lithium.

Hello,

I updated my script that removes the left menu, add a floating search box and improved the OpenStreetMap UI. The improvements are:

• Adding new menu data (export data & trace gps) as dropdown menu in the top bar
• Fixed the bug that displayed the search box in the print layout
• New style for counters (highlight more) in the inbox, editions, traces, and diaries
• Change the width of the subject box when sending messages

Actualicé mi script que elimina el menú izquierdo, añade un cuadro de búsqueda flotante y mejora la interface de usuario de OpenStreetMap. Las mejoras son:

• Adición del nuevo menú de datos (exportar datos y trazas gps) como menú desplegable en la barra superior
• Solución del fallo que mostraba el cuadro de búsqueda en la disposición imprimir
• Nuevo estilo para los contadores (resaltan más) en la bandeja de entrada, ediciones, trazas, y diarios
• Cambio del ancho de la caja del asunto cuando se envía mensajes

Hello,

My script is available which improves the appearance of the page OpenStreetMap. The idea was going around and today I decided to write and share.

The script is very simple, remove the left menu and enable a floating panel to the search box. Not perfect, but it’s a start and maybe add the links removed as a retractable panel.

The project is hosted on GitHub https://github.com/51114u9/osm-clean-ui Use the GreaseMonkey add-on in Firefox or TamperMonkey in Google Chrome.

Hola,

Está disponible mi script el cual mejora la apariencia de la página OpenStreetMap. La idea estuvo dando vueltas y hoy me animé a escribir y compartirlo.

El script es muy simple, elimina el menú izquierdo y habilita un panel flotante para el cajón de las búsquedas. No es perfecto, pero es un comienzo y quizá añada los enlaces eliminados como un panel retractable.

Día del Peatón y la Bicicleta

Hoy en el marco del Día del Peatón y la Bicicleta en #Cochabamba rodé ~12 km con Chris y @bloodtraction. Otro día más para #30daysofbiking http://twitpic.com/chtrsl

La ruta está disponible en la sección «mis trazas», y en esta semana actualizaré algunos datos obsoletos.

Retomando las ediciones he podido mejorar la ruta completa del Cristo de la Concordia ubicado en la ciudad de Cochabamba - Bolivia.

La edición contempla muchas mejoras en la información para el turista. Mejoré el parque «De la Autonomía» en el que se encuentra la estación del teleférico, su acceso, la boletería, el kiosco, etc., mejoré las características propias del teleférico (estaciones, cabinas e infraestructura), mejoré las gradas de acceso al Cristo de la Concordia y una que otra precisión en los lugares en la cima del propio monumento.

Queda pendiente algunas características del monumento, información turística en el interior del monumento y el camino de acceso.

Utilizando como fondo las imágenes de Bing en JOSM estoy editando Cochabamba. Las imágenes al tener un acercamiento hasta 30 mts. y con una edad de ~2.5 años de antigüedad estoy editando lo que falta pero con la diferencia que ahora voy por distritos D01 al D14 y del Noreste hacia la izquierda y abajo de la cuidad.

La idea es acabar al menos de editar todas las calles y luego los detalles.
