Hi Abetsi,
In your recent changeset 155158046, you left a large hole in the map. See the east side of this changeset.

This area is mostly forest but your changes have broken the multipolygon that was there.

Can you fix this? Please make sure after editing that you have not broken multipolygons. You can just reload the map at a high zoom level to check everything is fine.

Best,
Alk

Thanks Jordan. The features in OSM map do not have to be visible on satellite images, they just have to exist. Satellite images do not show everything. Many rainforest tracks in Cameroon have been added to the map with the help of field GPS survey.
I have already undeleted some of the ways you have removed. But there remain many ways to undelete.

Please also discuss this with the members of the Cameroon Urban Platform project.

Happy mapping to you,
Alkalin

I just undeleted these ways. Please let the community know on which basis you delete ways. I see that you have deleted many forest ways in other changesets. Please revert these changes if these were not based on the knowledge that these ways no longer exists. Note that forest ways (footways) are not visible on satellite imageries since these ways are hidden under the trees (this is different from forestry/logging tracks that can be driven with a car). You have to visit the place yourselves to digitize the way and monitor its state.

Hi Jordan Franck,
You have deleted a series of forest tracks in this changeset (153959972) without providing explanation. Can you tell me the reason?
I checked again in the field and these still exists.

And here is a misclassified residential area (should be a forest):
osm.org/changeset/153415236#map=14/3.9739/12.0084

You can find those by just looking for large gray patchs on the map. I see a few others.

And two others here:
osm.org/changeset/153415236#map=11/5.0236/12.2539
I found them by looking at white area on the map. Of course this is not very efficient because it can takes several days before the changes are included on the map at that scale.

There is another broken relation here that needs inspection for instance:
osm.org/changeset/153415236#map=13/4.1340/11.6917

You can use OSM inspector and fix all the issues that are displayed in it:
https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi

For instance a forest polygon east of Eseka is currently broken and OSM inspector indicates that there is an element of that multipolygon that is wrongly classified as outer. See here:
https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=10.57602&lat=3.45910&zoom=15&baselayer=Geofabrik%20Standard&opacity=0.70&overlays=ring_not_closed%2Ctouching_rings%2Crole_should_be_inner%2Crole_should_be_outer%2Cinner_with_same_tags

A simpler way is just to look at the map and find all empty area. In Cameroon the entire country has been tagged so if you see a white patch it means a new error has been introduced recently.

Hi, ok, that's great news new people are trained to build the map. Its important to explain them well how relations works since many people have work hard to get the map of Cameroon so detailed. There seems to be a miss-conception about residential area as you can see in this relation:
osm.org/relation/10976082/history
This is mostly forest with some farmlands and not a large residential area like a city. There are several large other patchs like this that have been erroneously classified as residential in the Center region. Please can you check this as well.

Dear chiogo junior,
It seems the relation 10776809 has been broken after your edits.
See history here: osm.org/relation/10776809/history#map=12/3.6619/11.1188
Please can you have a look?

Thank you Engelbert for your prompt reply. Yes you fixed it. It seems that forest multipolygons around Yaounde have recently been broken repeatidly by different people. And I can't keep up fixing them. Please don't hesitate to help fixing these whenever you encounter one.

Dear holymantsala,
You changed a large forest-farmalnd mosaic into a residential area. This contradict the definition of residential area: "An area of land having predominantly residential buildings such as houses or apartment buildings. " (see osm.wiki/Tag:landuse%3Dresidential). This tag is supposed to be used in residential parts of villages and cities.
All the best,
Alkalin

Bonjour Abetsi,

Cher Marie Ngonge,
Merci,
Alkalin

Hi JFL,
Thanks for your answer. No problem. To resolve this I resurrected relation 8779. The Congo river banks are complete again. There is a lot of mapping yet to do in order to correctly classify landcover on islands and surroundings of the river.
All the best,
AkalIn

Hi JFL-75,
In this changeset you deleted a large section of the Congo river (relation 8779 with tag natural=water). Are you still working on it, or do you plan to put it back?
Best,
AlkalIn
