Finally! After over four months of near-daily almost painstaking manual editing work in JOSM, entirely using aerial imagery with no automated imports whatsoever, and going through a few episodes of arm and hand cramping, all of the remaining woodland data on Vancouver Island, all the way northwest to Cape Scott, is now present in OpenStreetMap. I hope I was able to depict my own part of the world here just a bit prettier than before.

well done, I wouldn’t dream of doing anything like this in Australia. The community would flag it as a import and delete it

Great work 💪🏻
(I’ve recently discovered that except for forests there’s no landuse mapping some km from my place and yes, this is a lot of work if done neatly. Keep it up)
(slice0: No, this is not an import. Go ahead, grad your editor of choice and do some landuse mapping in Australia using current aerials available in your editor. You will see your work being welcome)

Wow - amazing work. I struggled just working in a small area in Washington State. (just to the south of Vancouver Island to those not familiar.) Like you, I noticed the impact on my fingers.
Last I read there are just a few glaciers left on Vancouver Island. Did you map any of those? Other than glaciers at higher elevations, like those in the Cascade Mountain Range, did you notice if they are significantly smaller than what government data sets show?

@Glassman: I believe those glaciers were already mapped prior to the work I did.
