96346869 | about 2 years ago | It's over 1 year, please avoid this kind of mapping. I will revert this now. |
136595257 | about 2 years ago | This is bad, be careful when mapping not to accidentally move existing features to some random position like you have done here. |
126521975 | about 2 years ago | I am sure it should be moved to Mango Street instead but where? |
54754277 | about 2 years ago | This is the basic purpose of the Imagery Offset plugin. But this should not be done blindly as the imagery's default alignment might improve with time and using offsets no longer useful. |
54754277 | about 2 years ago | As at the time of this changeset, if I am not mistaken Bing imagery had the best alignment by default with existing data and GPS traces, which seems to still hold in Version #1 of most these features. There's a mismatch between merging of images which you can clearly see around osm.org/node/6005414057 for both Bing and Maxar. Which means when you will need 2 different alignments for both East and West. The best options would be to look at existing GPS traces in the area, if there are none and you are in this area, go out and record a couple of them. (I am using the GPS Traces imagery layer these days instead of downloading them), also check the Imagery Offset Database plugin in JOSM - osm.wiki/JOSM/Plugins/Imagery_Offset_Database/Quick_Start to get offsets and see if some mapper has already saved something, try them. Save yours too after your finding and what worked best. You can also ask/share on the local mailing list/OSM diary, etc. your observations and what you think is working or not. |
137472481 | about 2 years ago | addr:city not needed here where there's no addr:housenumber |
137472366 | about 2 years ago | thanks for mapping, only map one feature as one. Here you have add the name of the guest house to two objects. |
87994616 | about 2 years ago | I will proceed to remove buildings in water bodies. |
137038552 | about 2 years ago | Thanks for fixing, kindly use title case for names, i.e Akplorwotorkor instead of AKPLORWOTORKOR Happy mapping! |
137188747 | about 2 years ago | Welcome to OpenStreetMap, and thanks for mapping. Use title case for names i.e Atorkor Roman Catholic Church, I am sure the name should have something like St. Name though. Also don't delete existing objects and retrace them completely instead align/move where possible. Happy Mapping! |
137157015 | about 2 years ago | Don't delete tags from objects and relations if you are not aware of they are. |
137157015 | about 2 years ago | Hi, the name of a feature is not to describe where it is but instead the name of the feature |
137184165 | about 2 years ago | The brand of the pharmacy is not Pharmacy |
137165319 | about 2 years ago | Any clarifications for adding payments to place of worship? |
130360938 | about 2 years ago | Use the name field for name of features not descriptions |
137137658 | about 2 years ago | add a tag building=yes to the ways to make them a valid building |
134363586 | about 2 years ago | You should tag ways in order to make them valid features in OSM, here i.e. building=yes. Better still just use the building_tools plugin in JOSM osm.wiki/JOSM/Plugins/BuildingsTools |
137113964 | about 2 years ago | You are skipping my question, how do you know this names are not written on the houses? You first should be discussing with the mapper before removing these names as private information. I have seen and also mapped houses especially family houses and villas in Ghana with names. These are no sensitive information, don't seat far away, assume and remove, discuss it. Kindly revert your changes and stop removing similar details. |
137121233 | about 2 years ago | You are using an imagery that is very old to create new without comparing other public background imagery. These kinds of mappings are useless and helps nobody. Use a combination of imagery to see which is more recent before adding new roads. Compare this with Bing, Maxar, etc |
