138292829 | about 2 years ago | Hi elviajedekathrin. Small note, please try to keep your changesets to within relatively small areas. Changesets like this one alert a lot of people to map changes which don't affect them, and makes it more difficult to keep track of edits to the map generally. Happy mapping!

138140280 | about 2 years ago | Hi Kasjus, welcome to OpenStreetMaps :). Just to point out, when making a bunch of map edits at once, try to keep them to within a relatively small area. In this case, you've made edits that span half the globe, which pings a huge number of people to changes which probably don't affect them, and makes it much harder for others to keep track of changes in their local area. Happy mapping!

137735889 | about 2 years ago | Hi Limo, regarding WAY: 1182111809, why did you remove the building tag and add landuse=residential? It looks like a building from the satellite imagery, and I believe the building use is part residential and part commercial.

137715838 | about 2 years ago | I did verify manually each and every element grabbed by the query, no worries. And the area id thing: I'd initially tried looking for the relation ID for the UK but couldn't figure out how to find it so settled on the name method instead. I'll keep it in mind for next time, cheers. |
137723047 | about 2 years ago | Hi Bibechana Sharma, your changeset looks pretty good. I've rotated some of the buildings a little bit as I've noticed in the past that Rapid mapwithai sometimes suggests buildings rotated slightly, but noticeably wrong. Made a few other changes including more geometry detailing and orthogonalizing building way:1184641079. Happy mapping!

137715838 | about 2 years ago | Thanks for the kind words Friendly_Ghost, and thanks for making the script :) . Honestly, I spent some hour or two faffing about with it since my understanding of Overpass is somewhat surface level but if you're curious, I've copied up the exact script I used in the Overpass API through JOSM in this pastebin, along with some comments of my rudimentary understanding.

137607526 | about 2 years ago | No problem, happy mapping :) |
137596903 | about 2 years ago | Righto, thanks for that.

137262155 | about 2 years ago | Fair enough I suppose, I'm considering in the distant future maybe to start mapping crossings in the area per the wiki (osm.wiki/Key:crossing) which will probably be quite an undertaking. |
137607526 | about 2 years ago | Hi Limo4719, for the sake of accuracy, you should 'square' most geometry you draw (some of the buildings you've added here are noticeably wonky). In the ID editor, you can do this by selecting the building and pressing Q.

137262155 | about 2 years ago | Hi GinaroZ, was wondering why you deleted the crossing tags from two ways on Lapwing Dr?
|
137100859 | about 2 years ago | No problem! I will say though also that in the future, try to keep the changes in your change-set to one area at a time.

137104406 | about 2 years ago | Ah, wasn't aware that's how it should be interpreted, fair enough, I'll revise the bike stands I've added so far, thanks.
|
137100859 | about 2 years ago | Hi, just wanted to ask how you know building/roof details from a StreetComplete survey? At least one of the buildings defined as 1 floor (namely the one formed from osm.org/node/3028272307) looks like it may have 2 floors.
|
135445039 | about 2 years ago | I was changing the tags to the format specified in the wiki (osm.wiki/Key:disused?uselang=en-GB), but I would agree that Muir Dean no longer even resembles a quarry, unlike Prestonhill and Goat.

128084323 | almost 3 years ago | Thanks for the advice 👍 |
127974966 | almost 3 years ago | Ah, so that's how it's best done. I'll do that from now on, thanks. |
127974966 | almost 3 years ago | The gate in question has a path that goes around it so I've tagged it such that foot and bike access is allowed. Wasn't sure how best to represent this detail.
