154110894 | 4 months ago | Righto, I'll just leave the private property stuff as a note then and leave access as permissive, cheers 👍. |
154110894 | 4 months ago | Yeah, still there, from today https://imgur.com/a/wCA4mW9 I did recall freedom-to-roam though, this means access could just be left as permissive and leave the private sign as note. |
154110894 | 4 months ago | You're right about the fencing, I see the very deliberate gap on the map, but see the street view (https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@56.0238204,-3.4318502,3a,71.2y,141.45h,88.09t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sSW_axill3VLqvawHNaONzg!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fcb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26pitch%3D1.913866242945403%26panoid%3DSW_axill3VLqvawHNaONzg%26yaw%3D141.4549934927017!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDQwOC4wIKXMDSoJLDEwMjExNDU1SAFQAw%3D%3D) (looked exactly like this when I visited today). The green sign indicates private property, no trespassing, and there's a small fence gently 'discouraging' pedestrians from continuing to the castle. The one page I could find talking about the castle suggests getting permission from the security first. Suppose this is a case of 'technically private' vs 'no-one actually cares'. |
154110894 | 4 months ago | Hiya andrum, I see you tagged Rosyth Castle with permissive access, but the sign there indicates the land is Rosyth Ports property, private property, and no trespassing, did you have a particular reason for tagging permissive? |
163382687 | 4 months ago | Yeah, that sounds fair. I'll restore the previous node then. |
163382687 | 5 months ago | Oops, yeah, thanks for letting me know I missed the duplicate. I've modified the parking tags and copied the taxi stand node tags over to a relation combining both areas (like in osm.org/relation/15030337), but I'm not entirely sure how well supported taxi stand relations are 🤔 |
162940182 | 5 months ago | That's the interpretation I used, wiki's definition matches. Not sure how much use my re-tagging of farmland is (how often is arable farmland converted to pasture/vice-versa?). In any case, I was mainly focusing on splitting up large farmlands based on fence/wall dividers, tagging meadows was just a fun little side mission :) |
162094328 | 6 months ago | Hey DorneyLake123, can't speak for the other places of worship, but what's the basis for adding building=yes to the Shrine of St. Margaret? As far as I'm aware, the shrine is a marble platform, not a physical building per se. |
159064481 | 9 months ago | Looks like node 4883817270 (Scotland) should not have been moved, I've reverted this node back |
153987974 | about 1 year ago | Ah, thanks, I'll try to be more careful next time. Figures the first time I'm working with huge objects, something goes wrong 😅 |
151670540 | about 1 year ago | Hi Dnichols14, welcome to OpenStreetMaps 🙂 The path you added in Forres, is this just an informal shortcut across the grass? And did you delete the driveway in Stubbington by accident, or was there a reason for the removal? |
151423890 | about 1 year ago | Apologies! I jumped the gun and did not notice that you only in fact swapped the order of tags and removed the white space. |
151423890 | about 1 year ago | Hi MapSpot, Why did you remove the parking_space tag? it's unusual, but from survey, this parking space really is designated as disabled only and a charging space. |
151156378 | about 1 year ago | Thanks Jorisbo |
151156378 | about 1 year ago | Hi Jorisbo, Why did you remove the core path designations from these paths? This should still be a core path per (https://www.nature.scot/enjoying-outdoors/routes-explore/local-path-networks) |
150800587 | about 1 year ago | I'll bare the private parking tagging in mind, thanks. |
150800587 | about 1 year ago | Thanks, been running low on things to actually add in the local area haha. |
149319767 | over 1 year ago | It's been made flush now? Nice, I remember how it was raised in the past, and thought it was tagged as flush because of the nearby driveway having a dropped kerb. I'll change this back shortly. |
148406236 | over 1 year ago | Ah yes, I was maybe too hasty to change the spelling, if newer sources say so. Older historical sources (OS 25 Inch, 1892-1914) and this OS name book (https://scotlandsplaces.gov.uk/digital-volumes/ordnance-survey-name-books/fife-and-kinross-shire-os-name-books-1853-1855/fife-and-kinross-shire-volume-74/68) from the 19th century use "Clinkhill". I did also, come across a recent story (https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/13097547.Police_find_body_in_missing_jogger_hunt/) where a "Clinthill" is mentioned, so fair, I'll revert my rename, and maybe verify by survey sometime I'm in the area. |
146445411 | over 1 year ago | Hi JJ5r, First thing, thanks for contributing, address data is sorely lacking in many places in Scotland. Second thing, note that a house can only be considered semi-detached if the building has two address units on it. Some of the buildings you've added are actually 3-4 houses together which should be more accurately tagged as "terrace". Happy mapping,
