Hi Metehyi,

I know this changeset was quite some time ago, but you listed your source of this data as geonames.org. Generally that site has issues with its license compatibility (I think that is what was meant by tainted here: osm.org/user/Metehyi/diary/8627#comments but also see osm.wiki/Geonames).

So a few questions. Were able to obtain this information from another source like was mentioned in the comments? Also was there any community discussion for the import? Do you know what the data license was? For now I just wanted to revive conversation a bit on this. I'm doing some research into the license and data sources of geonames at that time. Thanks for any information you may be able to provide.

I noticed you've been adding a lot of wikipedia=de:* tags to objects in China. is there a reason you are using the German tag for Chinese objects? From the wiki tag page (osm.wiki/Key:wikipedia?uselang=en-US): "only provide, in normal circumstances, a link to a single Wikipedia article, which should be to the article in the primary language for the subject." Secondary languages are suggested to be tagged as wikipedia:de=*.

I believe osm.org/way/390547731 is not a parking lot despite satellite imagery as there is a brand new apartment complex just finished in this vicinity.

I think it may make more sense to tag osm.org/way/385087969 as a regular footway and instead add a railway=crossing tag where it intersects the railroad.

Hi, many of the buildings you added in this changeset were not conflated with previously existing features. For example, a multi-story parking just east of the Courtyard was already present: osm.org/way/280345389 but it was still drawn over: osm.org/way/414032744. Another example osm.org/way/206001569 but buildings added over are osm.org/way/414032785 and osm.org/way/414032819.

Hi, could you please separate your changes a bit more into different changesets? It's difficult to know for mappers within this square exactly what was changed (if any) in their local area.

HI there, I noticed you changed the name on the Falkland Islands relation. My understanding is that the predominant language spoken there is English. Was this change made in consultation with the local mapping community? Alternative language names are already included in those localized tags, in this case namely name:es.

I agree with Supaplex. As this is a highly contentious area right now, edits should not be made to the overarching border relations without consultation of the local communities first.

Hi Johnny, I went ahead and reversed the changes you made in this and your first changeset. OpenStreetMap is an awesome opportunity where anyone can edit the map to make it better, but doing so requires you to use your own knowledge or data from compatible sources. The source you wrote in your changeset and on the objects is unfortunately not one that is compatible with OSM's license. Let me know if you have any questions!
