35842189 | about 9 years ago | I think it may make more sense to tag osm.org/way/385087969 as a regular footway and instead add a railway=crossing tag where it intersects the railroad. |
38938829 | about 9 years ago | Hi, many of the buildings you added in this changeset were not conflated with previously existing features. For example, a multi-story parking just east of the Courtyard was already present: osm.org/way/280345389 but it was still drawn over: osm.org/way/414032744. Another example osm.org/way/206001569 but buildings added over are osm.org/way/414032785 and osm.org/way/414032819. |
40826273 | about 9 years ago | Hi, could you please separate your changes a bit more into different changesets? It's difficult to know for mappers within this square exactly what was changed (if any) in their local area.

40651941 | about 9 years ago | HI there, I noticed you changed the name on the Falkland Islands relation. My understanding is that the predominant language spoken there is English. Was this change made in consultation with the local mapping community? Alternative language names are already included in those localized tags, in this case namely name:es.
Hola, ha cambiado el nombre de las "Faulkland Islands". Mi entendimiento es que el idioma predominante hay Inglés. ¿Se consultó a la comunidad local en primer lugar? Nombres de los idiomas alternativos ya están incluidos.

40753133 | about 9 years ago | I agree with Supaplex. As this is a highly contentious area right now, edits should not be made to the overarching border relations without consultation of the local communities first. |
15397593 | about 9 years ago | Hi Johnny, I went ahead and reversed the changes you made in this and your first changeset. OpenStreetMap is an awesome opportunity where anyone can edit the map to make it better, but doing so requires you to use your own knowledge or data from compatible sources. The source you wrote in your changeset and on the objects is unfortunately not one that is compatible with OSM's license. Let me know if you have any questions!

40630433 | about 9 years ago | Hi, when you mean countries should be named without their title, can you provide a little more context as to where that precedent is set? It looks like you are renaming multiple countries in this manner.

40056844 | about 9 years ago | Hi, can you provide some context for adding osm.org/way/425270917 to the Sansha City relation as part of its administrative region? What does this claim stem from? |
39963635 | about 9 years ago | Hi, can you please provide some context for this R-18靶區 object? Is it something surveyable and visible? Is it something that actually exists? |
39807834 | about 9 years ago | Hehe no problem ;) thanks for helping out with mapping around Madison! Cheers,

39765392 | about 9 years ago | Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap! I went ahead and reverted the edits you made in this changeset. Please keep in mind that OpenStreetMap is a live database--not a sandbox. People depend on our data! Let us know if you have questions about how to contribute. Happy Mapping,

39807834 | about 9 years ago | Hi there! I noticed you made some edits in Madison, however I would have to disagree with many of the classification changes. For example, osm.org/way/6606098 doesn't really qualify as a motorway given that it is within a parking lot. Could you provide a little more information as to the reasoning for some of these changes?

39421010 | about 9 years ago | Hi, this looks like it may be an automated import given the node placement in a parking garage as well as unusual tags. Can you provide some information about the data source? Did you survey this? Get it from a website? Happy Mapping, FTA |
39469430 | about 9 years ago | Hi MountainAddict, Users have tried to engage with you many times in changeset comments about editing the tags on this object. Is rendering of map tiles somewhere the reason you want route=ncn and not route=icn? If that is the issue, we can certainly reach out to whoever creates the tiles you are referencing and see if they would render route=icn in a similar light as route=ncn (I don't foresee a pressing reason they would not). [It's standard practice to avoid tagging strictly so something will render on the map](osm.wiki/Tagging_for_the_renderer) since the OSM project is more about the data, not the slippy map. route=icn is in use internationally--not strictly in the United States--so I think it would be most productive to use this tagging scheme to denote the route traverses multiple countries. It would be very beneficial knowledge for someone that they will likely encounter a border crossing, for example. Is there perhaps a difference reason you want that certain tag? Happy mapping, Ethan aka FTA |

39495229 | about 9 years ago | Yes indeed--just fixed it.

38993126 | about 9 years ago | Hi there,

39364845 | about 9 years ago | Ugh, that's the node reference, not the changeset. Changeset was 39361554 |
39361554 | about 9 years ago | Hi there! Welcome to OpenStreetMap. I noticed you happened to add two nodes--one with your business at the proper location and the second in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. I went ahead and removed the latter one. Feel free to shout if you have any questions about the project. Happy Mapping! Ethan aka FTA |
39192799 | about 9 years ago | It looks like osm.org/way/415151286 has the same tagging as osm.org/way/316623614 already. I haven't really seen a living street tagged as a closed way either. Thoughts on which one we should retain? |
