Changeset When Comment

Hi. you can find the warnings in iD editor in the tabs on the right side 2nd from bottom. Triangle with exclamation mark. When there are errors they will show up and also on the left side where you can make a choice how to correct them. It's a kind of Validating tool as in JOSM but less extended. It are not only your errors, also non solved errors of other mappers will show up I believe. This is rather new. Also the first time I noticed it. Open iD editor from this changeset and try to solve the errors, try the several options and please let me know how you experienced that.
Best regards

Hi. Thanks for mapping. A question
Did you see the warnings after you mapped this ? ( I guess these appear since the last update of iD editor)

Hi, I commented your mappings in TM3

Hi, Thanks for mapping here. A request.
When mapping/adjusting a highway and that highway crosses a stream or river, please tag a crossing on that point

Hi, Thanks for mapping. A remark
Highways with a connection function between isolated hamlets should never be tagged as track. unclassified or Path is more appropriate here.

HI
about deleting objects and remodelling
you'r right. When a building is so badly mapped; shift that one aside, map it agains and replace geometry (ctr+shit+G key)
About Validating
Here a validator has to come into action. This is the validators job. Correcting bad mappings, solving problems, realinging buildings, retag highways, remove and disconnect nodes. Sometimes it is a lot of work and boring, but yes, it is the validators job. When you do not like the correcting work you better stick to mapping. No problem with that.
You can run the validator any time and correct a number of objects.
About working from a saved job
No a good idea. You never know if someone else also do some mapping work on that task, so the database can get corrupted. Then there will be lots of conflicts which hast to be solved otherwise you cannot upload them ( I can tell you ; that is a crime ! )

Success

Gracias

Hi, I checked this changeset.
Is it correct that you often delete a wrongly mapped building rather than adjusting it ?
It is important to keep the history of objects. It get lost when you delete it.
If it is more convenient to map the object again, then move first the bad mapped object aside, map the same object again and select under the tab 'more tools'( if you have installed that) en select 'replace geometry' or use shortcut ctrl+shift+ G key

I don't know if it your aim to get involved in validating right now. If it is yes, run the validator tool (see plug ins) and solve the errors and warnings
Let me know.
Best regards

Hi. Yes try to correct everything. When you are finished let me know which changeset you made.

The original mappings were done with the Bing Imagery. MAXAR P where we are now working on is more recent so new buildings are visible and old ones can be disappeared This has to be corrected.

Hi Pietrofù. I took a look to this changeset
first. When you upload do not change the hash info. Just summarize what you've done. (after the hash info) On the comment field of the task on TM3 you can leave an extended comment. Now I have to check other mappings to know the project number.
This is an opportunity to improve your mapping skills. I do not know which task this is. When it is still open for mapping, open it, run the validating tool end try to solve the results. There are 4 different sorts of warnings etc here. If the task is already closed, give me the project and task number that I can invalidate it so you can continue wit mapping and correcting
Main objective here, Align the mapped buildings with the imagery and solve the warnings etc
Best regards

Hi Ddub512.
Thanks for mapping here.
In general, precise and fine mapped.
A few remarks. you tend to map a bit oversized. Try to stay within the outlines of the buildings. When you see a dark line next to a building, it is the shadow of that building on the ground. Do not include that in your mappings.
Best regards and keep mapping

Hello, Thanks for mapping. Will you please keep yourself to the mapping requirements? Just buildings in this project.

Hi Troy, Thanks for mapping here.
A remark. In urban areas highways (except major highways) has to be tagged as residential.
Please square all buildings with the Q key in iDeditor
try to avoid that nodes of buildings becomes connected to other buildings

Hi Ambior. This a the way I used to follow to react on a mappers work.
I cannot see on which task you have worked here. First of all. Maxar Premium has a very good view. Free of Clouds. So I took that to proceed,
This is a mapping job I guess (no validation job) since there are so many buildings not mapped.
You did a pretty good job with only 1 not squared building (out of 394 buildings) precise mapped and well aligned.
I ran the validation tool and solved some issues. (crossings waterway and highways) squared, shifted and mapped buildings (not visible on DG and Bing
https://overpass-api.de/achavi/?changeset=71554990 On his page I noticed also that you did move lots of buildings to align them with the imagery. When I see this work I think you were validating this task. Any idea which task this is? There is still a lot of work to do on this place ( Use MAXAR P)
Am I right that you deleted a number of buildings (wrong place and bad mapped) and remapped the building on the correct place? If you did so, please use the "replace geometry" tool rather than delete and remap that building.
( move the building to another place, map the building again, select them both and 'ctr-shift G'
The history of that building will be kept.)
Best regards

Hi, A few remarks. You oversize the building with the mast. Here you can see how to tag a mast
osm.wiki/Tag:man_made%3Dmast
Since we have no further knowledge about the tower, we leave it that way
The middle object are 2 buildings.
On this webpage you find your original mappings and the adjustments, I've made

Hi ZOTM.
Thanks for mapping on this project.
Validators review mapped tasks to check if they are well mapped an confirm the requirements of the project.
In general your mappings are fair but should be improved. You did not square the buildings. Be more precise in following the outlines of buildings. When there is no shadow visible, objects are mostly no building.
The dark lines beneath a building is the shadow on the ground. Please do not include them in your building
On this webpage you can see your original mappings (dark red) which has been adjusted.

Hi, Thanks for mapping here. I reviewed some work of you. A remark. Please square the mapped buildings always with the S key in Id Editor Use the Maxar Premium Imagery, since that is the most recent imagery. Best regards and keep mapping

71296686 about 6 years ago

Hi, I Checked also the mappings on this task.
You have mapped the fences of a property boundary as a building. Please map only objects which are buildings and do not combine buildings which are close to each other as 1 building,
When a building is partly hidden by trees, try to extrapolate the walls of the building rather than following the outlines of a tree
Best regards
