Hello Rob. Thanks for your reaction.
I Think it is important to forget our (european) view how highways are situated, In this part of Tanzania good quality highways are rare ( only main routes) Most of them are earth.
As a matter of fact quite a lot of people travel by foot and use (when they can afford it ) motorcyle taxi's to the more remote areas. That's why I changed the taggings. I might be wrong, but I've been there (Masaai country) and have seen the local situation how they live and move around. I mapped them in line with other projects I helped mapping /validating in northern Tanzania.
Best regards

Hello David. Sorry to bother you so long after mapping here.
A remark. Please be more accurate in your mappings and take into account that tall buildings have to be moved to their footprints.
To refresh how to map tall buildings,
Just map the roof area. after that, move that mapped piece to the place where the building meets the ground.
Best regards and keep mapping

further info. Most of the paths you tagged as residential are < 2 mtr wide and should be tagged as path.Zoom in as far as possible (maxar 10 mtr zoom)
How to measure the width of a highway. Use the building tool and start creating a round building between the sidings of that road. In the info bar at the bottom you can read the width.

Hello Rob. Thanks for mapping on this test project.
A remark. You mapped quite a lot of highways as residential. fyi. This tag is to be used in residential areas lig hamlets, villages etc. Here unclassified, path or track should be preferred., I will change the taggings

Hello Jess. Thanks for mapping
I review and validate tasks.
A few remarks
your mappings are rather inaccurate and not squared. you mapped 54 buildings of which just 5 were proper squared.
Use the Q key while the building is selected in iDeditor to square a building.
Do not map a residential area around 1 building. The name says. ' Area" So there must be a number of buildings to call it an area.
Never let buildings cross other features like highways and landuse areas.
Best regards and keep mapping

Hello. Thanks for mapping here
I review and validate tasks.
A few remarks.
Please square each building you map with the Q key in iD editor while the building is selected. You missed quite a lot of buildings.
Also pay attention on the issues delivered by the Triangle at the right hand menu. You ought to solve these before uploading your word,
Here you have mapped buildings which crosses a highway. That are errors.
You cannot drive through a building. :-)
Best regards

Hi. Thanks for your reaction.
What I mend to say is that detached buildings should be mapped as 1 building. This is common use at mapping. (see the course documentation) Only when it is obvious that buildings share the same sidewall, like a row of connected buildings which we cannot see on these images, they can be mapped with nodes connected to each other. An industrial complex where you can see that buildings are connected to each other can be mapped as 1 building
Take a look to this page
https://overpass-api.de/achavi/?changeset=79189599
and scroll over the way 754264971
You looked to the modified version where the changes have been done.
And yes, It cost more time to map every building individual, but that is how it should be done.
Best regards

What I wanted to say is that mapping these paths have no priority so from the project view it only cost time which could be spend on the mapping of buildings and highways.

Hello Fosi_geo.
Thanks for mapping here.
I review mappings and validate tasks.
I have some remarks about your mappings.
* A serious issue: you map highways (paths) often ending on the node of a building. This is always wrong. Never connect nodes of highways to other features like buildings or landuse.
*Also connect the nodes of highways to each other where a road goes further., f.e. you let a highway end on the node of a building and continue with the node on the opposite of the building with that highway. Just connect the highway nodes to each other without touching the building. (don't map a highway through a building as well) GPS driven Nav systems cannot handle that.
* You did not squared any building. (30) Please square each building with the Q key in iDeditor when it is still selected.
* This is a Disaster mapping project.
All we want you to map are buildings and highways. Please don't waste time on other features
* About tagging of highways. A highway connecting hamlets/villages is never a residential . More Unclassified, and when it continues and connect several villages a tag Tertiary is more valid.

Hello Mantvydas.
Thanks for mapping here.
I review mappings and validating tasks.
A request.
Please map as accurate as possible and square each building by pressing the Q key in iDeditor while the building is selected. You missed quite a number of buildings which are not proper squared. (51 out of 90)

Hello. Thanks for mapping here
A remark. I noticed that your regularly map dry riverbeds as drain. Tagging waterway=river and tag intermitted=yes reflects more the actual situation
A drain is more a man-made waterway

Hello. Thanks for mapping.
I review mappings and validate. A request.
On this changeset you only mapped buildings with a somewhat dark roof. Quit an number of buildings with a natural colour roof were not mapped. I know . Sometimes it is hard to see the difference between a building and farmland or yard. Always check for a shadow to proof that the object is above groundlevel and thus probably a building.
Don' let buildings cross highways of connect nodes to other features
Best regards and keep mapping

Hello. Thanks for mapping here
I review mappings and validate.
A remark. I noticed that you map highways (correct tagged) and name them f.i. 'unclassified' Please don't name them. Only when you know the name, you can add it. just tag the qualification is sufficient.

Another issue. Never connect nodes of buildings and highways to other features.
Thanks

Hello. Thanks for mapping.
I review mappings and validate.
A remark. When you map highways (paths here) always connect pieces to other highways so that they connect to each other and are suitable for navigation systems.
Didn't you notice the issues which came up on the issue triangle on the right hand menu?
Please solve these before uploading your work
Best regards and keep mapping.

Hi. Another issue, You mapped landscape features as farmland. This is not required. This is a disaster mapping project with the request to map just buildings and highways.
You connected nodes of those features to highways. Please avoid that. This are errors which have to be solved. Also Buildings connecting to other features are errors. (Navigation systems cannot cope with these issues.)

Please be more accurate in mapping of buildings. Often not squared ( Use the Q key in iDeditor after each mapped building with the building still selected.)

Hello. Thanks for mapping here.
I review mappings and validate.
A remark. I noticed that you mapped vague irregular objects as buildings.
please take a second look and check for shadows (object is above ground level) traces of human activity ( traces of paths) Also, most of the buildings are straight rectangular ( sometimes partly hidden by trees) I you don't see those points it mostly are no buildings.
