133193345 | over 2 years ago | Yeah, fair point. This guy doesn't seem to be working with the broader Ukrainian community. |
133193345 | over 2 years ago | Hi Mazda05, I see you're reverting the work of avinet_ua. Out of curiosity; what is your opinion on this user's translation edits in general? |
133118561 | over 2 years ago | Hello. I have a few questions/remarks about the addresses here: addr:country tags should only contain the 2-letter code. Building numbers (عمارة رقم ) should not be part of the addr:housenumber tag. What does addr:daïra mean? Why are there several places with addr:housenumber=0 ? addr:city seems to be tagged in an inconsistent way: I found TAGHZOUT, Taghzout ⵜⴰⵖⵣⵓⵜ تغزوت and تغزوت. Which one is correct? |
132258734 | over 2 years ago | I added the picture as wikimedia_commons tag in osm.org/changeset/132386114. |
130961841 | over 2 years ago | As you say, the walls do not enclose the city. Therefore, they are functionally different from city walls. I agree with you that the barrier=wall tag would be wrong and too generic to use here. That said, deliberately mistagging all structures as walls is not a workable solution either. Walls are usually regarded as linestrings, yet you have added the tag to OSM objects that are supposed to be closed ways (areas) instead. This leads to misrepresentations of the structures, for example at the tenailles and the redoubt. Also, not every section is a separate fort. All sections are parts of Fort Adams, which, in accordance with OSM's "One feature, one OSM element" only be mapped once. How is osm.org/way/1127882118 not a duplicate of osm.org/relation/11532810? |
130865525 | over 2 years ago | Thank you. Have a good day. |
129534665 | over 2 years ago | Reverted in osm.org/changeset/132005671 |
129371842 | over 2 years ago | Hello, I have deleted this object in osm.org/changeset/132005512. |
130865525 | over 2 years ago | You said that 99% of your last edits are Russian powergrid. I did notice you spamming small edits in Russia and Belarus all with false descriptions, but that doesn't take away that you are also a major contributor of power, place and waterway objects in Ukraine since the war broke out. I agree with you that it's not the smartest choice of some mappers to delete already mapped infrastructure in Ukraine at will. If there was really any broad support for this, we would have seen such edits in a more organised fashion. That said, the appeal of the Ukrainian mappers is respected by enough people now that you can see it clearly in the statistics. I wrote a forum post about that here: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/ukrainian-osm-community-appeal-re-edits-of-osm-data-during-russian-ukrainian-war/995/12 Last but not least, could you just stop mapping infrastructure in the eastern half of Ukraine for the duration of the war, please? Even if the data can be found elsewhere, we don't want to make OSM a part of the information war and we don't want to start edit wars with mappers who have different opinions about what should and shouldn't be mapped in this area. I hope this isn't too much to ask. |
130865525 | over 2 years ago | Hello olehz, Your changeset comment is bullshit. You're mapping power infrastructure in Ukraine here. The Ukrainian OSM community urges us not to edit the map of Ukraine during the war, so why are you mapping sensitive infrastructure in an active war zone? For completeness, here is a link to the relevant OSM mapping guideline: osm.wiki/Russian%E2%80%93Ukrainian_war |
131928107 | over 2 years ago | Hello Hans_Hy, Please write more informative changeset comments to explain to the community what you have edited. This helps mappers to review changesets, which is especially important in Ukraine with the war going on and all that. Best regards, Casper |

129107055 | over 2 years ago | Hi JRH50, Here too, the fort and this ravelin are not city walls, they are the walls of the fort. I do not see how this tag applies here. |
130961841 | over 2 years ago | Hey JRH50, What exactly did you map at osm.org/way/1127882118? It doesn't have any physical attributes and since it's a way it's not a boundary. Also, how does it relate to osm.org/relation/11532810? |
130962248 | over 2 years ago | Hey JRH50, Why did you tag every single part as a fort? All parts belong to Fort Adams, which is one single fort (see the "One feature, one OSM element" guideline). Especially defensive works like tenailles are definitely not forts. On top of that, these are definitely not city walls, so I don't understand why you used this tag here. Also, what is the purpose of historic=military + military=fort? It looks like a duplicate of historic=fort, and military tags don't even apply here since the military is no longer involved. |
Mvg,
