We have a massive 560 mile federal trail system for the Star Spangled Banner historical route of Francis Scott Key that isn't mapped yet. Gps devices use OSM. How is navigation not important? Maps are used for navigation. A large area with multiple fields it is hard to navigate which field if the community can't see name tags on each field in the gps device. Would it benefit being able to say oh GPS I want to go to field 8 at this school. Even for schools it is helpful for when they have maintenence deliveries scheduled to be delivered at each different field.

With all due respect some of the rules in mapping doesn't actually help the community. It just keeps the appearance pretty. Community would benefit with name tags for athletic fields and playgrounds for navigation purposes.

Also when recreational organizations put n permits to use the fields for scheduled recreational practices and games the fields are labeled with the school departments. Yet maps do not show them as such with their proper names. Some fields are also identified based on dedication and memorial plaques.

Southeast, it is associated by the local community as being named with the school.because it abuses it. Having a ton of unnamed fields doesn't help the community.

Playgrounds and other amenities at these areas should be identified as well with names associated with the school name so people can search them when they want to go to a playground, when the county built one for it to use.

I disagree with you. Maps are for the communities use to identify places. The fields are allowed by the county to be used for recreation use for the communities. Having recreational area tags help the recreational organizations and rest of the community to identify for their community where people can be safely with a visual distinction on the maps to utilize when visiting the area. This helps parents know yes they can use the fields for recreational purposes too, so that less concerns of trespassing is brought up on bogus reasons. Newer GPS devices also show a visual distinction between schools and recreation use areas, which would benefit the community with these tags. I wish the fields could actually have name tags too to help the community be able to search for a field easier for directions to them. Currently you can't tell on maps which field is which.

They are footpaths for the graveyard for each lane. Nothing is wrong with showing them so people know where to park for their isle.

That would be similar to what I was doing with Grass on Parks. I am always told it is not what you do in OSM. But if Grant Park is that way. I don't understand why other parks can't be that way?
