Waiʻānapanapa State Park

Vum Icycle matgedeelt de(n) 25. November 2009 op English.

My first night of camping on Maui was at Waiʻānapanapa State Park, just a few miles outside of Hāna. This pretty little park has a black sand beach, lava tubes, and ancient trails. I only had time and energy to enjoy a small portion of what this park had to offer.

I also have come to realize that the TIGER 2009 road data for the area in the immediate vicinity of the park has some serious errors, based on my recollections, the satellite images, and my GPS tracks. Unfortunately the information I do have is not enough for me to correctly reconstruct the proper road network in this area, so I hope that someone else will come along and do a comprehensive resurvey of this area.
