Does the regional and district really share the same "major cycle track" name?

Please don't invent names. I believe the original is based in government plans, no?

Should Wu Kai Sha not be a `=village`? I don't see why you deleted Tin Sam as well.

Can you explain your mass changing of `=village`to `=hamlet`?

Please don't confuse place with natural features. The former is usually set as the center of the place. Use Wikidata or etymology tags to describe their relationship.

Please don't delete the city node. You obviously don't understand what's their difference.

Tin Hau is a well in use place name to refer to Causeway Bay East, and is meaningful comparateively.
Should Braemar Hill not be a `=quarter` at least?

Please check the objects. This is HKSAR as a state not a city.

This really shows the applicability of `area=yes`. If the pathway is linear and narrow, a line is more correct and representative, and `area:highway=pedestrian` (+ `highway=footway` + `area=yes`) could be used. On the result side, most applications don't support area routing either, so a line would be added as in here.

For narrow, linear pathways, `area:highway=` should be used, instead of `area=yes`. This especially applies to `highway=pedestrian`, which considers "pedestrian streets" physically usable by multi-tracked vehicles.

Also try to avoid mass deleting and replacing objects. Use JOSM's Replace Geometry for that.
