I followed wikipedia article that was already attached to it and got the wikidata item id from there, but aparently it's wrong...so both would have to be changed.

So what you are saying is that it may or may not be erroneous, you want me to fix it, but don't want me to touch anything? Gotcha loud and clear

From what I see is that the town boundary and the town point are the same. Adding the wikidata to the point and the way is accurate as they are the same thing. Unless we create a relation that has all this information, this is not incorrect. I can do that if you want me to. The way is the town boundary.

If it's not a town and a county ill delete it in osm and correct wikidata

43701420 over 8 years ago

I don't want to see mean or pushy, but is this an actual place? Or is it a county?

43701420 over 8 years ago

If it is truely related to the relation(county) we should fix the wikidata item to not reflect it as a town then as it will reoccur over and over. Wiki data says it's a town with the coordinates less than 15km difference: https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Q3501230?uselang=en-US
If this is not an actual town(osm) why is it still on the map?

If you believe it is a wrong wiki article, then please remove it. If it is the correct wikidata, why remove it?

Do you understand English? These. Are. Not. Automated. Edits.

Why does a offline edit have to be discussed? Do you have to email a mailing list when you edit a road, a building, a tree?

But i'm not using an API, nor find and replace so what's your point?

43742323 over 8 years ago

What I find quite strange is if I were to commit this one by one. No one would bat an eye, but I do it in a batch and questions are raised. It's the same thing as if I were doing it through ID or JOSM. The IDs are correct and I am not sure why they are being questioned?

The 7th position of the decimal is a precision of less than 10cm.....I may have touched it by accident in JOSM

I downloaded the mapbox QA-tiles a couple days ago. Extracted the nodes with "place" tag. I then have been looking up places with same name. This is the result of my labour.

It's the same idea behind:
https://www.mapbox.com/blog/geocoding-wikidata/
https://www.mapbox.com/blog/id-wikidata/

also the automated edits are not applicable in this case as I am reviewing all the changesets manually. Thank you

Adding wikidata. You take a place name and look it up here: www.wikidata.org. The resulting ID gives you access to wikipedia pages, meta data etc
