I congratulate the team working on Dar es salaam community mapping. Good job so far, the data are so accurate as of now, i see no error. Keep the good job.

I think we have done a lot in mapping Tandale with more facilities especially Toilets, buildings, water tanks, ect which i think is the source of problems. I didnt map the area….the community did with our facilitation. I think i am even more happy to see that the informal area like Tandale in Dar es Salaam is mapped using showing the problems facing the community, we have different issues shown in the map such as shortage of water, inaccessibility, eruption of diseases like Maralia, ect. Not only that but also we are letting the community raise their voice by righting the reports of what is happening in Tandale through USHAHIDI “http://tandale.ramanitanzania.org/ushahidi/” this helps to link the map and the reports (showing the spatial location of the reports itself). This is what i think make me happy.

Magu district is the district where there was no any tracing of the residential buildings using OSM, it was only the Major roads and access roads without the footpath. I was trying to trace some of the buildings to start with, may be this will start influencing others. I feel so excited to have few buildings traced especially the place where there were no tracing. I hope other near mappers will give me support by start tracing buildings and even the footpath.

We divided into groups such that all the student were editing the map that were not completed in the previous day and the community were tought on how to write the report on the internet including the issues that are facing the community such as Water problems, road problems, etc.
Then the community were allowed to go to the site to collect the data including the problems facing the community and write down for the riport writing.

Leo tuligawanyishwa katika magroup na si tulienda kuchukua njia za mtaa wa Kwa tumbo ambapo tulikuwa tukitumia GPS wakati tukitembea na GPS ilikuwa inajichora. Pia tulikuwa tunachukua point za muhimu kama Maduka, Shule, Matenki ya Maji, Bar, Shule za kiislam, n.k.
Tulipoludi kutoka Site, tukazidownload izo data na kuanza kuzitumia tukitrace kwenye ramani.

nilienda kuangalia matumizi ya ardhi katika mtaa wa Muhalitani ambapo nilikuwa na angalia maeneo ya sokoni wakati naangalia vichochoro vya maeneo hayo. Baada ya kutoka Site, ndo nikaanza kutrace Majengo pamoja na vichochoro hivyo kwenye talakilishi nikitumia proglam ya OpenStreetMap.
