This is a public map, not a personal notetaking device. Please do not add nonexistent items and/or items that only make sense to you personally. Reverted in 50622434.

There's a Factory Club next door, but it probably isn't a fast food. Fixed.

Dobrý den, to číslo domu bylo předtím správně; prosím, neopravujte to, co není rozbité.

Klub a prádelna zároveň? To je nějaká zvláštní kombinace.

If you want to map nonexistent places, go to http://opengeofiction.net/#map=3/55.43/27.25 . OSM is for mapping the real world. Reverted in 50617586.

Hello,
is this a different company from Car rent Letiště Praha? osm.org/node/3840898663#map=19/50.10762/14.26990

Welcome to OpenStreetmap, and thanks for the edits.

Please be careful with the roads - when you removed the "highway=primary" from this one, it was invisible for a while (it is fixed now, so no worries): osm.org/way/254514371

Cheers,

Great, thanks :) I have corrected the river to a stream - this is not a large enough flow to be a river. BTW, do you know where it continues from Prostřední rybník?

Hello,
thanks for the new addition; however, it looked like the forest is also inside the pond. I corrected this by making a pond-shaped hole inside the forest (check osm.wiki/Relation:multipolygon for the logic).

Cheers,

Reverted in osm.org/changeset/50256589

Please see osm.wiki/Cs:Beginners_Guide_1.1 for some tips on data sources.

50236948 about 8 years ago

Hello/ahoj,
thank you for the effort; unfortunately, mapy.cz and firmy.cz do not have a compatible license to OSM, and therefore it is not possible to accept data from these sources. I'm afraid this changeset will need to be reverted.

People should invest their time in mapping existing objects, yes. Legal or not - how do we check that? This is completely out of scope for OSM; enforcing this for just this one case again means "I don't like, shouldn't exists, delete." http://pardubice.idnes.cz/majitel-nacerno-postavene-vily-chce-zablokovat-olympijsky-park-p8k-/pardubice-zpravy.aspx?c=A160510_2245173_pardubice-zpravy_jah

OSM _reflects_ the world, does not propagate any part of it; breaking a mirror doesn't fix the already-broken situation of the world. The owner is indeed taking steps to reclaim the building, in the real world. That is the correct course of action IMHO - when they do, someone will probably edit the map to reflect reality; in the meantime, censoring the map doesn't make reality better. (Just leads to edit wars, with someone else adding the "missing" feature again - deleted features are not obvious in any editor)

OSM is built on the On-The-Ground principle: map what exists. Thus it also shows things that do exist but are forbidden. Should we also review all footpaths that are too close to a railway? (Many of them are probably illegal as well, and fall within SŽDC's mandate) In the same vein, should we also censor Wikipedia? (if any mention is propagation, there are many illegal things mentioned)

In all these cases, I believe that the answer is "no": OSM (like Wikipedia) is a mirror of the world - "this is how the world exists", not a prescription "this is how the world should be", it is also not an endorsement "this is what exists, it is good and/or correct". It merely states the existence - this might be relevant, even though it was written primarily for naming and territorial disputes: http://wiki.osmfoundation.org/w/images/d/d8/DisputedTerritoriesInformation.pdf

OSM maps what exists, it does not say "it exists and it is good".

If I think a city dump should not exist, do I fix it by deleting it from OSM? This is a road to hell, even if paved with good intentions: there are people who believe certain *countries* should not exist; do we consent and delete a whole country from the map, even though it exists? "I dislike this" is not a good base for an edit war, I think. (Note that the previous version _did_ mention that the property is illegally squatted)

"corrected" means "deleted"?

Jako sice sídlí, ale takhle by to znamenalo "a Pikrtova 1a je _tady na tom bodě_"; přesunul se Avast, nikoli adresní bod (tj. obě dotčené budovy si zachovaly adresy). Opraveno v osm.org/changeset/50178135#map=16/50.0481/14.4475

49868545 about 8 years ago
