Mir geht es ähnlich wie Virago. Es gibt keine (möglicherweise nur für Dummies)geeignete Anleitung wie man mit JOSM umgehen soll. Ich nutze daher immer Potlatch. Was wäre denn der Vorteil von JOSM?

On my Garmin I have to rename the Image-file to "gmapsupp.img" and copied it in a directory "garmin" (Sorry, my English is not so good, I am better in German).

To make a image file from a osm file you have to type in a Dos-Window (Command)
java -jar mkgmap.jar OSM-File.osm
There are no problems. It runs on my Garmin Extrex legend HCx
