I live in a place with average 445 inhabitants per km² and we don't have aerial images too. I would love to have those (I get jealous when I look at other countries) but you learn to live without it. You'll have to do everything with the GPS.

I now set mapnik as background, that way I can see if I did something wrong.

Well, I had the same problem with a new GPS. I wanted to track a train route from Izegem to Kortrijk (Belguim) but the train left before my gps got a fix. So I didn't receive a fix for the complete train route and I had to try it again.

I've reacted on your blog but it doesn't seem to come trough.

I find your idea quite interesting. Maybe there could be another option: only allowing people to do this game by bike. This way you can promote this game as a outdoor sports game.

If you're planning on getting this project started. I want to help. I know how to program in object oriented Java but I have no experience with graphical programs.

But I don't get the point of the two smaller versions of the globe. What should those mean?

The slogan is also a bit cheerleader-isch but I can't find a better one right now. Maybe something with your design, with the words "puzzle", "people" or "human" and "map".

What do you mean? Do you want to download a list of all street names in a certain regio?n If you go to the export tag, you can choose to export a region to a xml file (please try a little region first). when you've downloaded that file you can go to the part where the ways are (do a ctrl+f to "way id") and there you can see the streets. Some have no names, others have a name tag. I guess you can find a peace of software to filter out certain xml tags so you have only a list of the names.

Een server conflict is als er twee mensen ongeveer op het zelfde moment dezelfde knoop of straat bewerkt hebben (OSM geeft dan de eerste bewerking voorrang). De knoop of straat in kwestie zal dan niet geupdated worden. Er heeft dus waarschijlijk iemand die oude blok bewerkt, zodat jij die niet (meteen) kon verwijderen.

Welkom op openstreetmap, ik ben hier zelf slechts een maandje bezig maar we zijn niet de enige. In minder dan een jaar tijd is openstreetmap verdubbeld in aantal gebruikers (zie http://www.h-online.com/open/news/item/OpenStreetMap-to-reach-250-000-contributors-today-980410.html )

Ik probeer vooral West-Vlaanderen ( osm.org/?lat=50.997&lon=3.202&zoom=10&layers=B000FTF ) te mappen en daar is nog veel werk.

I did one game, I had to fill in my name afterwards but then the whole app blocked: Seconds went by like milliseconds, I saw no more cities, Images of the buttons weren't loaded anymore, I'm now at level 57 with doing only one level (don't ask me how I got there :p) ...
