Je kan dit artikel lezen om je eigen POI's te tonen op een OSM kaart. Als je het dynamischer wil kan je waarschijnlijk het tekstbestand vervangen door een php bestand die zijn informatie van een database haalt. Hoe je info aan een database moet toevoegen heb ik geen idee van. Waarschijnlijk kan je de gebruikers met javascript, als ze klikken op de kaart, doorverwijzen naar een php pagina met een text veldje. Maar ik heb geen tijd om het uit te zoeken.

It all depends on what area you are, I know an area where the images are only 1 year old, some other are more than 5 years old.

There is a tool for checking: http://mvexel.dev.openstreetmap.org/bing/

But in my area, it's not correct. It says the images are taken between 1980 and 2007 while I know they can only be 1 year old. Maybe it's better in your area.

If you use potlatch 2, you need to go in "advanced" mode. You can't add custom tags in the simple mode.

This will only happen once. I have learned to save every five minutes.

Why OSMAndroid? It hasn't been touched for more than a year.

For offline OSM viewing and routing, I would recommend navit. They are still working in the android port (it has some usability issues) but it works rather well. You can find info on the OSM wiki.

well, I posted this just before the bing images. now I have aerial images too, and I'm drawing a lot of buildings in my area, so that I can use walking papers to note the housenumbers. This will be handier than gps.

in Belgium, I only know 2 unclassified highways which aren't lit, so you may make Belgium completely lit :P

In any case: every residential, primary, secondary, tertiary, motroway or trunk highway is lit, there are only exceptions on the unclassified higways.

for the images: install the slippy map plugin. You can choose bing maps if you have the latest josm.

if you have josm latest, you might also install the slippymap plugin, this provides bing images as background.

But remember that you should still map names, housenumbers, post-boxes, bus stops and all other things you can't see on the images.

If your area is well mapped but is lacking tags (like names) or details, you can use walking papers: http://walking-papers.org/

Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention it.

I wouldn't install josm from the repos, in the repos there is an old version (the development of JOSM is too fast for debian or ubuntu). When you run the installation from the repos and you want to install plugins, you will see errors.

I would advise to download the jar like windows users have to do, and you can make a shortcut with the command

java -jar /path/to/josm/josm-latest.jar

Some plugins you could want:
* slippymap: to display mapnik or bing image tiles in the background
* validator: it notifies you if you made mistakes, but it sometimes gives false positives.
* walkingpapers if you use walking papers to map

on a lot of pages, you see the wmsplugin for yahoo imagery, but this is no longer needed since Bing imagery is way better.

That's true, but the potlatch code isn't the best flash code. Potlatch 2 works faster, but it still has some bugs in it. I have seen my "save" button disappear, so the work since the last save was lost.

Isn't JOSM able to filter out empty values? I know you can't upload them, but you can still use them. I don't have problems with losing my gps signal (but it isn't so accurate and it can take a long time before the first fix). Maybe a tip: your body takes a lot of the EM-waves away, so try to have at least 50% of your phone free and not covered by parts of your body.

And for the tracking, OSMtracker is a good app for OSM, you can easilly make notes on your gpx trace.

About navit: the basic disadvantage is that it isn't native android but it has been ported to many devices (iOS, windows, Linux, OSx, freerunner, tomtom...) and therefore the code is very low level and navit has created his own user interface. So you won't see typical android menu's.

I'm happy the back button works now, in earlier versions, you had to use the screen for everything because it is so system independent.

I wonder which will become the more stable and usable of the two: navit, with a solid base system but with work on the android port, or OpenSatNav with a better android support, but still debugging the foundations.

In any case, both developer teams are working hard on free software and I respect it.
