Hi,

Some big 'survey' you did, all the way from Saint Dizier, France, to the southern tip of the Peloponnese, in Greece. I would not dare doing that in a single edit set and 99.999% of the other mappers don't do so either, which is a long way to say: "Could you please next time do your edit(s) on a small zone basis and save them piece meal". Then only the local people with the local knowledge have standing chance to review and make adjustment if so assessed. Now it's very hard to even find where what was done exactly.

TIA and happy mapping.

Confirmed to have resolved the rendering of trees through inner areas of grassland, scrub and bare rock.

113936728 almost 4 years ago

OK, confirmed, wood no-longer renders through the inner areas for this relation.

28 issues resolved in 1 small edit... pretty good. :O)

Goodos on great detailed mapping of this village.

Hi,

Pity you did not do these 3 globe spanning changes is 1 edit set. Now I have 3 in my local history view and none are relevant to many any most local mappers. They will linger there for days any time no specific edit set is selected, near the top that is, as so many of these global CSs do. The more you zoom in, the worse it gets.

ciao from Italy

So funny, the church right there has 3 names and it's alt_name is tagged with... you have 1 guess only since you entered it. You have 1 guess too as to the name in the wikidata link, which is what is used, when it's used, in the name:etymology:wikipedia/wikipedia links for street names. The 3rd name is not referenced. The diocese recounts the history of the names BTW. As to what's official, I know signs pointing to Falcade in 3 directions on 1 pole and 2 to Pescara on 1 pole. Take your pick as hiker and traveller what's official.

You've certainly earned the umorista award, but if Comune Aquila says so, I defer. Take it up with them. The way mapped as 'Santa' ends at a church called 'Sant'Apollonia', so the diocese is referring to too... Sant'Apollonia and February 9 is the day of this good man. But it was you who mapped 'Santa' 3 years ago. Could your registry be wrong ;?

Enjoy the evening.

My first comment

"OSMI advice N°20 20211117 delete MP relation of building parts and create building outline, tag building:part, add levels for parts. Address is at 38. Road behind is Via Sant'Apollonia 52, tagged private per corner sign."

One of the sources: osm.org/user/Comune Aq - Ufficio Toponomastica - alji . Must have been wrong too.

OSM has a long easily accessible memory, unless items are deleted, which is regrettable.

113898036 almost 4 years ago

My screen says I tagged Apollonia, both on the street and the address node, not Apollinare, same as the person who tagged it originally 4 years ago ' Comune Aq - Ufficio Toponomastica - alji' which street name you then removed as well 3 years ago with the much meaning CS comment 'varie'. With that and another search, 4 sources now.
You or anyone having a pile of issues does concern me in a way that it does not work well for anyone relying on the database of OSM remembering that particular line you wrote when queried on that deletion of a group of buildings in a village, of course without mentioning that.
We make some, we break some, but at least I try to make what I know I've broken. Public statistics tell plenty on that.

Lol, so I did manage to wake you from your slumber. Multiple sources say it's Via Sant'Apollinare, maany private roads have names, but you know better. There's literally hundreds of issues in L'Aquila that have been left unresolved under your surveillance, there's a few thousand where your name is listed as the last one to edit the object. One would expect it would concern you more.

hi,

Just to let you know, I've added turn lanes tags to the intersection in Bocca di Valle. OSM Routing simulator from Colle Barone to PennaP and vice versa is working correctly now. I'm in a fix frenzy momentarily with a diagnostic tool I've seen many times, OSM Inspector, but did not see through it. Many pennies dropped.

cheers

Hi,

Why are all these 'ajout parcours' touching on the Bretagne, France and a point near Tokyo, Japan?

113810240 almost 4 years ago

Eureka, that did it, 2 sections of scrub now rendering and wood relations still showing too, albeit 1 grew to 648 as AOTM.

113806866 almost 4 years ago

NB The scrub single line has 1979 nodes at time of writing. Greater than 1900 is said to be problematic, over 2000 a no go it said in a Osmi signalling report. Think I'm going to break this up and clean more duplicate lines. There are a total of 27704 nodes in the whole assembly incl inner areas according the 2021-11-14 10:00 UTC update. Put me head in the butter touching this, but do like a challenge... was broken, so it needs fixing.

113798208 almost 4 years ago

Note: Self intersection will block rendering. The wood did not show prior to edit.

113767783 almost 4 years ago

The scrub is not rendering at all suspecting somewhere a self intersection or area overlap or inner / outer confusion causing this. The single out-line is very long, thousands of nodes over a very large area. Considering breaking this up to make it manageable.

Hope that tomorrow Osmose will sent me a red flag tag in the error levels reports with a pin(s) in the areas where it hurts.

113766873 almost 4 years ago

Seems it worked, spaces filled with bare rock, scrub, grass, wood still rendering. And those hundreds no longer rendering trees from these areas. Missed a number, but ID was complaining about to many ediots in the set. Will follow up in a next CS.

Thank you for letting every mapper know between Leeds and Napels. Why parkings near Nottingham and something in Italy is in the same edit set we do not want to know. It just should not be and could have been saved on a site by site basis to only tell the local folk.

Thanks in advance for doing that the next time.

Sad news, they buildings is really really gone. There's now a plastic fence and a scaffolding around an empty space. Maybe they flattened it by accident and a rebuilding, but likely something entirely new. TBC

The good news is, 2 new buildings have appeared which look like being in finishing stages, up market, future design.

While there diagonally opposite a new BeCharge station for 2 cars. Also saw at Eni near the Uni something that looks like a new charging station. A black 2 meter
high monolith with BE on it, maybe Stanley Kubrick has plans. Did not look close as it started to rain...

Think it's the very building that's gone. In streetview went to the exact coordinates and there you can see the long red brick wall with that Instituto, half way (never found reference to that archive either on the www). The re-construction has been taken forever. If weather permits I'll cycle by and take a pic. I was quite surprised they'd flattened it. (I went to look for the Staccioli and wondered where they'd gone). Maybe I was in the 4th dimension for a little ;o)))
