I've noticed several places where the same name sometimes appears with a space, and sometimes without. E.g. one near to me has "Broadwalk" and "Broad Walk" on signs at different ends of the road. Which is correct? Difficult to tell!

You can always try complaining to town council (though that might not actually do anything)

Sometimes it is the Sign Department. In the Bellevue, Washington area the was a street named Northup Road. Some where along the way signs started showing up that said Northrup Road. Now all the signs say that even thought it was named after a person named Northup.

Same here in the San Antonio area. The name of a road where at one time there was a large native American settlement was Red Land Road. Over the last few years the new signs going up say Redland Road. There are both types within a half a mile of each other.

You could change it, but also add old_name=Carseview Drive.

A month ago I was using OSM where someone else had mapped and a road name was wrong. Actually I knew it had been right when the road/houses were built, but I guess they decided to completly change the name when they finished building. (mentioned in http://www.livingwithdragons.com/2008/01/correcting-the-map)
