My thoughts here, I'll still see Route 51 Santiago-Tuguegarao as trunk as an equally important link between Santiago and Tuguegarao. Primary may be fine, noting the lack of primaries west of Maharlika Highway, but I’n not convinced. Better shifting the Baguio-Tuguegarao trunk route from the way via Bontoc and Tabuk to Route 110 Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya (rest on Maharlika Highway and Route 51).

I don't understand what he means in his comment, but this kind of comment (especially those saying "seen this") is one of his MO. Just to note, this one is of sock of a long-term vandal; don't get fooled.

Just a note, please avoid tagging short-term closures. It's tempting to map them, but remember features may not be frequently updated and OSM data is also used by map/nav apps for offline use. Such closures are better handled by those apps, not the main map.

To give you an idea why primary routings need to be determined carefully, you might want to look in the maps of large US cities like LA or New York, where they do have a lot too many primary roads. The local communities have set newer guidelines for primary roads in dense areas or large cities, and there are plans already to reclassify some of those to secondary depending on factors like construction and traffic volumes.

I'm not very convinced Macapagal should be primary, considering it's mostly local traffic and it's fairly too close to Roxas Boulevard. I agree Ayala and Lawton should be kept secondary; being main accesses to CBDs is irrelevant and there are even larger roads that are more important for traffic. Also in a very dense area like Metro Manila, what gets primary needs to determined carefully.

Fine by me, but I would like to keep those roads as primary with the rather sparse primary network there until some time. Also, between Antipolo and Tayabas, most traffic is between the towns, and some sections narrow and winding. I'll also look into your edit on Marcos Highway.

But that's not always the case. There should be any signs it's restricted (sticker required, visitors must sign and present ID), but the case of BF Resort seems to be on the permissive one. Someone local should check.

But I'll find fault with trunk here, especially when considering the control cities from Lucena: Tayabas > Lucban > Luisiana > Santa Cruz > Lumban > Siniloan > Tanay (assumed, with the lack of signage on Famy Junction) > Morong > Manila (assumed considering lack of directional signage past Morong town proper). From Metro Manila (or Manila as a control city), Antipolo is the obvious control city, but past that, it's generally towns until you pass through Lucban. The Antipolo-Lucena corridor can be made a trunk, but that should be left out until the near future.

Also, if there would be a trunk across Rizal, I think that need not to route around Antipolo, especially when considering print/static map users would prefer the lakeside route, and that the Antipolo-Teresa-Baras route is national tertiary and should generally be classified no higher than primary or secondary.

My thoughts here, I think tertiary is the best classification for the roads to Parañaque City Hall due to frequent jogs across local streets and a rather sparse network of tertiary roads in the area. For BF Resort Drive, you might need to check due to guardhouse (HOA/Friendship Route sticker required or pass-thru allowed?)

If you want to restore trunk status, I'll disagree as I consider Antipolo as part of Manila for the purpose of mapping the trunk network rather than its own destination. It may be a redundant link to Route 1/Maharlika Highway, but I think you need more convincing reasons so to justify adding a trunk routing through Rizal and eastern Laguna.

Just a note, please be careful tracing from aerial imagery that may be outdated. Also note imagery offsets from GPS tracks. I'll restore the previous alignment for this one (part of this edits involves road that has since been improved).

Just a note, I've seen you've been adding a lot of exit nodes around beginning point of channelizations. You have some named after posted destinations rather than the local name in use, and some unnecessarily redundant with existing named junction areas or nodes. I just sweeped through them, having removed a lot of those.

But that would be the case if P. dela Cruz feeds traffic to other tertiary routes. For this one, there’s none, and the changes are completely fine. Yes, it may have more traffic (considering the Mindanao Avenue gap), but its function is ultimately an industrial collector, not an arterial street, and again, there are no other tertiary roads feeding to it to justify an upgrade.

Unless the Mindanao Avenue extension is not built, having the pre-existing main roads downgraded as a better route is being built is fine. Temporarily upgrading local roads to a higher classification in a map to mark a detour around a closed section is generally not good practice.
