Groeten,

143310934 | almost 2 years ago | Hallo HV2023, Nogmaals.
Groeten,

143261992 | almost 2 years ago | Hallo HV2023, Ik heb dit weer verwijderd. Groeten,

143000389 | almost 2 years ago | A lot of vandalism happened. Someone tried deleting all of Isreal and made a huge mess in the process. Dragging all sorts of things around.
Some info on what happened here:

Gaat voornamelijk om osm.org/way/1217281061 |
142588476 | almost 2 years ago | I will keep that in mind for the future. Thank you for the information. |
142623791 | almost 2 years ago | As nice as it would be to have a single reliable and up-to-date source of truth for coastline data. the OS maps arent it. osm.wiki/Ordnance_Survey_OpenData
In addition to that and like I said before. The MHWL data contains plenty of errors and are years out of date in some places. To show a select few examples: Ghost islands:
Missing islands:
Out-of-date coastlines:
All of these are very clearly in error and show that the OS data isn't foolproof and should not be relied on as the sole source of coastline data. |
142623791 | almost 2 years ago | Well thats just rude. Undoing someone's work because they're not using the data source you want them to. |
142588476 | almost 2 years ago | So there is no OS data available thats more accurate and up to date? Thats a shame. I'll try looking at the OS maps a bit more often. But I'm not going to blindly trust it when I have more detailed and more recent visual imagery available to me. As for the admin boundaries. I map terrain, things that exist "on the ground". Right now I try not to touch them and basically pretend they're not there. Which sometimes leads to inconsistencies when editing pieces of coastline that have admin boundaries attached to them. So if you have a suggestion there, as to whats the best way to deal with those cases, that would be welcome. |
142588476 | almost 2 years ago | I've tried using the OS OpenMap Streetview/Local maps in the past, but have found them to be pretty outdated and innacurate at times. Especially near Saltmarshes. So I've mostly been using satellite imagery. Its not too bad. You can make pretty accurate guesses, especially when you're using multiple different layers. But it does always have leave amount of error yeah. If you have a more up-to-date or accurate coastline imagery URL I could use, that would be highly appreciated. Sincerely,

142588476 | almost 2 years ago | I mostly just use bing imagery. But esri wayback serves as a good backup tool sometimes. Plus its great for determining low tide features. |
142334021 | almost 2 years ago | Je hebt gelijk. |
137686393 | almost 2 years ago | Seems to be some sort of bird feeder you can pay for? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-SQ-0JIm4o&t=28047s So just some low effort crypto spam that can be removed. |
141990430 | almost 2 years ago | I map a random island for fun and come back 3 days later to see a dozen new changesets and many additional details mapped. Impressive. |
Nice |
