Just learned how to edit

Posted by UT_TV_Tech on 11 February 2025 in English.

Well, I’ve just discovered that anybody can edit like it’s wikipedia. So instead of doing homework, I’ve spent several hours fixing little things in my hometown. This is fun.

Yeah, you can do it on your phone, PC, work, school, home….

I suggest you learn more about the editors osm.wiki/Editors (JOSM, iD…)

Interesting thing to get going: osm.wiki/Simple_3D_Buildings

And, if you want some help via AI to add buildings: osm.wiki/Rapid

Great mapping.

It really is (fun), and it’s great that you think so. Once there is nothing left to do in your hometown, you can follow Wat Mildon’s bot @SmallTownUSA@en.osm.town to take you all over the US to under-mapped places.

Or zoom into any random place to see how detailed it is; works great in rural areas

This seems to be the way :) (Starting at your hometown)
