Hi Luke,
Thanks!
There definitely needs to be more routes mapped, a-lot of new projects like Safe Active Streets, bicycle boulevards, new paths, bike lanes etc. There's something called Your Move now which has some info about safe / good roads and paths for bikes. Looking at a few of these, and considering they hadn't been updated to reflect the Department of Transport dropping support for the PBN a few years ago, their irrelevance in light of these new projects and considering that really all there was of them on the ground were some albeit incomplete signage, as well as many of them needing updates as the relations had had issues come up over the years, I considered it alright to remove the PBN. I was hoping when I get free time over the next few months to update it based on Your Move and the most recent information available. The great thing about OSM is that anyone is free to make changes, so if people want to add some new bike routes that would be fantastic! The inclusion of the PBN was no longer relevant. I don't feel it necessary for me to get personally involved on the mailing list re the Wiki changes, I am confident that if there are changes or revisions which need to be made or discussed they will be, and do not need my involvement.

Hi Luke :)
Thanks for you feedback,
To add to this I would like to add that the Department of Transport has stopped supporting and referencing these routes. The latest information on these routes is about 7 years old, and itself was copied on from the most recent modifications in the late 2000s / early 2010s.
The Perth Bicycle Network was part of a State Government political push in the mid 1990s, support for and maintenance this has declined since then.
The only thing that remains of these routes are the old signs which were installed. There is no special infrastructure.
I am a regular cyclist, and someone who lives in Perth, I followed a great number of these routes to check before undertaking this edit, signage is incomplete and new signage is not installed, vandalised signage is not replaced, and it is the responsibility of the local governments, who have largely moved onto other cycling initiatives and projects. OSM was one of the few places where the PBN is still referenced.

Hi Ds5rUy.
This was deleted for the following reasons.
->The routes are just routes, and do not serve any practical function or any purpose in reality, as largely they are fragmented, and consist of riding on roads without any dedicated infrastructure.
->The signage has not been maintained, and maintenance is the responsibility of the respective local government authority, which varies wildly. Beyond the funding in the 1990s, signage has been maintained ad-hoc. There lacks any consistency. New signage is not installed.
->If you live in Perth, I seriously doubt you would have ever used these routes for navigation, nor would you have ever purposefully ridden by the route, instead of taking a more direct or safer route option as to on road cycling.
->The routes are circuitous.
->The OSM information has not been maintained to reflect changes, and the OSM application of the routes were not consistent.

Hi Richie,
Thanks for the edit!
Please review the Wiki and familiarise yourself with how to correctly tag roads, paths, etc which are under construction.
Cheers
