163957618 | 4 months ago | Hello - I've reverted this change on three grounds: Firstly, that the comment describes a height restriction that does not appear in the changeset. Secondly, that the change involves a change to the road width (+0.1m) and road type (under construction -> living street), but Maplehurst Road is not a living street per the OSM Wiki definition, even if residents would like it that way. The existing state of the map already covers the closure for non-residents while the Junction Road changes are occurring. Thirdly, that the change includes a change of speed to 20mph that is not cited and I can find no evidence of. If I'm incorrect about this, I apologise, but the new limit should be on the entire road rather than the north end, and ideally the change tags should give some evidence of this. Thanks. |
163947223 | 4 months ago | Hello - I've reverted this change on two grounds - firstly, that the map should represent what's on the ground, not a future state, and this still is a closed road at the moment. Please see osm.wiki/Good_practice#Map_what's_on_the_ground Secondly, because the "name" tag should not be used for non-name values. Please see osm.wiki/Good_practice#Don't_use_name_tag_to_describe_things (I also note the typo in "Uknown".) |

155112519 | 10 months ago | I had no idea about man_made=cutline until just now - this could have saved me a ton of effort where there are narrow non-path clearances in woods! |
157571649 | 10 months ago | I wondered about that - I didn't want to remove it, but the Strava heatmap doesn't have anyone going that way. Satellite has a visible path where is joins Freshfields, but while Esri Clarity shows it joining the 1066 grounds, Bing has it joining the edge of the field - and since unofficial paths come and go with the seasons, we can't trust them too much. Worth a survey, maybe. |
153592884 | about 1 year ago | Thanks. I redrew this station building recently to correct some broken geometry and alignment - for my own education/betterment, what needed correction? |
153109837 | about 1 year ago | I'm fairly sure, was there earlier in the year for a swim. Bing Streetside in iD doesn't have it, so I'll check next time I'm near - but I'm moderately confident. |
125789693 | almost 3 years ago | Cheers. Just lucky that I happened to be looking at the same area to add some new buildings! The whole of Hastings has some issues with alignment - some of it matches cadastral parcels, some the satellite imagery - so until there's a clean-up it's just trying to keep the roads consistent. |

123357376 | about 3 years ago | Thanks. I'll redraw as polygons. I don't have sufficient knowledge of the angling centre to outline the whole area accurately, and my interest in mapping these bodies of water is navigational rather than local business. A future contributor may wish to update the centre itself, but in the meantime this should leave the map (a) accurate and (b) in better stead than before the ponds were added. |
123357376 | about 3 years ago | From a little more reading, since these trenches don't have water flow, it's perhaps better to redraw them as polygons (despite their narrow width) and then use natural=pond and leisure=fishing. |
123357376 | about 3 years ago | Hi Dave - this was the most appropriate tag set I could find, but I'd be happy to change them if there's something more appropriate. They're not for irrigation, so waterway=drain doesn't fit - they're man-made water channels specifically for the fishery. Maybe keep the current tags but add leisure=fishing? |
104526295 | about 4 years ago | Thanks for the correction, @DaveF - I added this tag because iD was otherwise complaining about disconnected routes (the footbridge). |

28729239 | over 10 years ago | Note: I can't find any other sources to confirm the rock's exact position. I've used http://wikimapia.org/6598149/98-Rock since it's most specific, but Wikipedia says it is on the north end of Wake Island, not on Wilkes Island. |
