115222755 | over 3 years ago | Hey there,
It also looks like you added an overlapping line here (osm.org/way/1014136100). I would remove this and add a foot path that has one end on Park View and another on the track. If you have any questions or need any help feel free to respond to my comment. |
115028891 | over 3 years ago | Hey there,
In this case the address tags should be sufficient enough. I noticed you asked for some tips in your past changesets so I've sent you a list of things I've been sending to new mappers |
115161830 | over 3 years ago | Hi and welcome to OpenStreetMap!

115184742 | over 3 years ago | Thanks for adding this path! I know that wooded trails like these are difficult to map, so I highly recommend tracing from the Strava heatmap using this tool:
I would follow the instructions for iD, which is the editor you're using. If you have any questions feel free to respond. |

115140331 | over 3 years ago | Thanks for adding this missing trail! Everything looks good. Another good resource to use to add these missing trails is the Strava heatmap - you can trace from it using this browser extension (follow instructions for iD): https://github.com/zekefarwell/josm-strava-heatmap I noticed there's a missing trail between Breakdown and Arm Bar which can be seen on the heatmap so feel free to add it. |
114833674 | over 3 years ago | Hi,
For this reason I please ask that you remove these schools from the map Also, the name/operator tags aren't for descriptions, see osm.wiki/Names#Names_are_not_for_descriptions
For example, a cemetery shouldn't be named "Cemetery" or "Unknown". If you have any questions or need any further help feel free to respond to my comment |
114978973 | over 3 years ago | Hey there, thanks for adding these trails! I just added the rest of the trails at the other new Metro park, Chehalem Ridge |
114991944 | over 3 years ago | Really appreciate your edits from this past month! Not sure if you're affiliated with TriMet but adding these addresses improves their trip planner as it relies on OSM data |
114979873 | over 3 years ago | Thanks for adding access tags to this service road. Please note in the future that we don't use names for descriptions in OSM. See osm.wiki/Names#Names_are_not_for_descriptions |
114928737 | over 3 years ago | Hi and welcome to OpenStreetMap! Addresses are usually placed on buildings or as a point in the center of the building, so I moved the address added to the building. Also note that we separate the address into housenumber, street, city, state, and postcode. We also expand abbreviations (Boulevard instead of Blvd.) |
114825967 | over 3 years ago | Hi and welcome to OpenStreetMap. Note that we don't use names to describe features in OSM:
This name should be removed as it's already correctly tagged as a house. |
114799701 | over 3 years ago | Hi and welcome to OpenStreetMap. Note that we don't use names to describe features in OSM:
This name should be removed as it's already correctly labeled as a shed. |
114798012 | over 3 years ago | Hi and welcome to OpenStreetMap! Note that the default measurement in OSM is meters, it looks like the width for this cycleway is closer to 10 feet (~3m) as opposed to 10 meters (~32ft) |
114864402 | over 3 years ago | Hi and welcome to OpenStreetMap! Thanks for adding more information to this dog park. |
114758347 | over 3 years ago | Thanks for responding. I meant paid mapper as in editing the map for commercial purposes, such as for a client, not as in paying for a membership - hopefully this clears things up. |
114781869 | over 3 years ago | Hi, why did you remove the wikidata tags from a bunch of businesses, schools, and parks from this area? It also looks like you changed the NW Self Storage to a building |
114790916 | over 3 years ago | Hi and welcome to OpenStreetMap! If these are businesses I recommend to change the feature type for these: For example Noah's Ark could probably be a veterinarian. Some common brands, such as State Farm even have their own preset. If you have any questions or need any help with this feel free to respond to my comment. |
114767631 | over 3 years ago | Hi and welcome to OpenStreetMap! Yes, letter box is the right feature for this. If you go to the 'Add field' section when selecting the letter box you can indicate whether or not it's lockable. |
114758347 | over 3 years ago | Hi there! It looks like you added the building outline as an 'Apartment Complex'. Apartment complexes are a type of landuse so this should really cover the entire property rather than just the building. The building itself should be an 'Apartment Building'. Also quick tip: you can square the corners of buildings by selecting on it and pressing 'q'. This building looks like it only has square corners so this tool would be particularly useful. It looks like you also left some buildings and service roads that were there before this apartment building was constructed, so I would remove those. Also remember to remove the gates attached to these service roads. Additionally, it seems like you're a paid mapper, so I highly encourage you to read the Organised Editing Guidelines before you continue mapping. You can read them here:
Thanks for reading all of this! If you have any questions or need any help please feel free to respond to my comment. |
