Thanks for your reply. I'm aware of the tagging, but since the relation was created by you in this changeset I thought you'd have an idea about what real-world feature it was supposed to represent. I'll remote the park tag and leave a note referencing this discussion. Cheers.

Hi there, I'm curious what park this is? Since it was created without a name tag it's hard to tell and impossible to try to ook for it elsewhere... I'm not aware of a park at this location and it is not listed in the list of natural areas from the State of Florida either. The relation is 6275564 (the ways are also tagged with leisure=park btw). Thanks in advance.

Hi 3yoda, can you elaborate on the change to trunk on A1A from Ormond Beach to what looks like the city limits of Flagler Beach? It isn't a divided road, so I'm curious how this stretch constitutes trunk? It's primary before and after, so it looks very much like a discontinuity with no change in the road characteristics. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to OpenStreetMap! Thanks for your contributions in Boca! Just a quick note to let you know that the "backyard ponds" are actually private swimming pools, so a more appropriate tag would be leisure=swimming_pool along with access=private :) You may also find the "straighten" function useful to make buildings and such have right angles (shorcut in iD editor is S when you have a polygon selected). Happy mapping!

perdón, la etiqueta **no** es válida

47071416 over 8 years ago

Cordial saludo marcodena, la etiqueta bus_guideway es válida para el Transmilenio. Véase osm.wiki/Tag:highway%3Dbus_guideway: "Do not use this on normal paved roadways that are designated for buses only. One correct tagging for those is highway=service, access=no, bus=designated." Por favor revierta sus cambios y anuncie este tipo de iniciativas de amplia cobertura a la lista de correos para tener recibir feedback con antelación. Gracias

Hi & welcome to OSM! Thanks for your very detailed contributions! Just wanted to welcome you and invite you to visit the wiki page (osm.wiki) where you can find additional information about tags. More specifically, the mapping of turning lanes as individual ways is discouraged in favor of using tags about lane information (turn:lanes, etc.) Turning lanes on major roads also don't qualify as residential roads as there's no residential buildings along them, so *_link is more appropriate in those cases. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions. Happy mapping!

Hi there, just thought I'd mention that perhaps covered=yes would be a better tag for roads which pass through a roof structures without walls on all sides (such as the ones in front of the cruise terminals). This is specially true if you'll be doing large scale imports. Cheers & happy mapping

Hi, I'm not really sure why you've decided to re-align the whole of A1A in Miami-Dade to the outer lane? The convention is to align to the road's centerline. For such widespread changes, please consider discussing your idea with the rest of the community via the mailing list before endeavoring into something that may be difficult for others to undo, and at the very list kindly add comments to your changesets. Thanks & happy mapping.

Hi there and welcome to OSM! Thanks for your additions to Delray Beach. Please make sure to connect sidewalks to the road network at crossings so that they can be used for routing :) Happy mapping!

No problem at all! It was just a small detail really, nothing to worry about. The important thing is that what you mapped matched reality, and at the end of the day that's all that matters.

Thanks for removing the tags from the duplicate exit node. I went ahead and reverted the deletion of the ramp & bridge and prefixed it with "demolished" so that people looking at TIGER and/or Bing won't re-add it thinking it's missing --it was just a couple clicks on JOSM, so no big deal.

It's hard to update the map with every single change made during construction is ongoing, especially with no aerial imagery. But what we can do is map what is expected when construction ends using highway=construction plus construction=motorway_link (or whatever it may be). An example of this is the I-4 @ SR 435, where you can see the construction ramps as dotted lines. That would enable a GPS device to use roads that are tagged as construction if you're driving on them when they become available.

In any case, mapping that does require a good (i.e. verifiable/official) source. I don't make my way up to Maitland so often anymore, but fortunately, the FL DOT does have a pretty good resource at http://i4ultimate.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/2483-SR-414-interchange-improvements-handout.pdf

With ongoing construction people are expected to follow reality rather than their GPS anyway, so it's ok for the map to be out of sync while good resources come in to map it well. If you'd like to go ahead with the construction mapping though, that's usually the way it's tagged. If you're thinking of a bigger edit, you might want to bring it up through the mailing list and maybe enlist some extra help.

Thanks again & do let me know if I can be of any help.

Hi there, thanks for your update of the I-4 @ Maitland Blvd exit. I noticed that you deleted the NB exit ramp towards the west. Couple of things: 1) there are two 90B exits now since the old exit is still tagged. 2) Since the ramp is still visible on the current imagery, I'd suggest using the appropriate lifecycle prefixes for highways (such as demolished, disused) so that its status is clear to others and it's not re-added. Also, if there is ongoing construction, please use the construction tag as opposed to the highway tag. Let me know what the status of the old and new exit ramps are, and I'll be happy to revert the deletion and apply the lifecycle tags. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. Thanks & happy mapping!

Hi there Davvan, thanks for your contributions! When mapping parking isles, it would be great if the roads didn't backtrack existing roads as it comes up in data quality checks as an overlapping road (which is considered an error). Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions! Happy mapping!

Hi lazy5, thanks for your contributions in and around Amelia Earhart Park. It look as if you may have forgotten to check for overlapping roads & trails as some of the paths overlap existing features. Uploading unchecked GPX tracks is discouraged, so just make sure you check them next time before uploading :) Let us know if you need any help at https://help.openstreetmap.org or by checking the wiki at osm.wiki. Happy mapping!

Also, road priority changes need a source, but you have left no comment on your changeset either. Leaving meaningful comments helps other mappers with verifiability (see osm.wiki/Verifiability). Thanks again. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch or direct them to the talk-us mailing list.

Hi, regarding your changes to Collins Avenue, can you let us know what the basis is for moving the way off the centerline yet again after it had been fixed from your earlier changesets? As a convention, roads are mapped on the centerline. You haven't used any placement tags, either, so I'd appreciate some feedback since fixing your changes has become very time consuming. Thanks.

Hi, I'm not sure why you disconnected all footways from the cul-de-sacs near the beach? Without a connection to the road network, no walking directions can be provided...

44149320 over 8 years ago

Hi & thanks for your upload. In future, please take care to check beforehand if roads don't already exist before uploading GPX tracks in order to avoid duplicated/overlapping roads. Thanks.

Hi & thanks for your edit! Regarding Bill Dr & West Anoka Ln, is it possible to cross by foot? If so, could you please connect them with a highway=footway (or path as appropriate); if not, please add noexit=yes to the terminal node of W Anoka Ln in order to avoid data quality tools marking this as an unconnected road. Thanks! :)

Hi, I've reverted your changes to road priorities as they were correct prior to your edits. For cross-referencing, I didn't received a response to my question regarding the source for these changes which I posted to your changeset 42052810. The wiki is a great place to get information about tags in OSM in general, and specifically what the different road priorities mean in OSM (see osm.wiki/United_States_roads_tagging).
