I have been living in this area for over 25 years and have never heard it referred to as "River Road", most likely because it runs beside, not a river but, a substantial stream. I have only ever heard of it referred to as Broe's Lane. I have no idea why it should not have been called McGuire's Lane but that is the situation as it stands!
