110790685 | almost 4 years ago | Hey liuxinyu970226, Please read "Good changeset comments" on the wiki:
This has also been requested 2 months ago (or 171 changesets..):
Be sure to -continue to- reply to changeset comments so we know you read them. Have fun mapping! Regards, Daniel |

110726410 | almost 4 years ago | Hey oneoftheordinary, Please see osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments I also sent you a message on the OSM World Discord, so I'm sure you'll see this one way or the other :) Regards, Daniel |
110533400 | almost 4 years ago | Hey and welcome Nadabindu, Only map what is specified by the task, please. The task specifies to map buildings, not ways -i.e. paths-. Adding layer \ tunnel or similar tagging is invalid for this path. It can be clearly seen from aerial imagery and at no point does it go underground. This may be considered vandalism. I have manually reverted your changes. Sidenote: There was one part which wasn't in the right place, I've moved this to its correct position. For help mapping, go to https://learnosm.org/ Regards, Daniel |
110674978 | almost 4 years ago | Hey sab27, "retagged two features mapped as building as natural=shrub"
See a.o. the "Don't mix the history" section of the "Good practice" page on the wiki:
Sidenote: It seems both objects were mapped by the same user and are the only objects mapped in the changeset. You can check the changeset for more objects which may be wrong if there were any, but *more importantly* can send the user feedback or mention them on the HOT project's discussion section \ alert managers if any other changesets also do this. Regards, Daniel |

110655591 | almost 4 years ago | osm.org/node/9051393054/history
Sidenote: In this case, the road does continue on further south, however it seems someone has interpreted a shadowed part of the road as a building, making it harder to see this unless you look closer. Regards, Daniel |
Do not forget to add a tag to an object. See also my previous comment Learn more at https://learnosm.org/ Regards, Daniel |
Square your building by pressing Q or right clicking and pressing "Square". If it will not square, move corners closer to a square shape and try again. Learn more at https://learnosm.org/ Regards, Daniel |
Salut, Daniel |
110478308 | almost 4 years ago | I should mention you don't need to apologize or correct this up front. Sorry for any inconvenience. "So how could anyone know about Mapbox's being the current fashion, as you're now telling me after the fact?"
"all I get from HOT are messages pretending I don't know what I'm doing. (By the way, I am very far from a "new contributor." It's just a new account)."
Have fun mapping! Regards, Daniel PS: You can help out on the latest edge matching task, which can be difficult for new mappers, but it should be just fine for you!

110478308 | almost 4 years ago | Hey abq_1, Note, imagery can change through the years. Some imagery layers may be more up-to-date or accurate than others. For the current 2021 HOT Activation, data is being aligned to Mapbox. You can use other layers (here Maxar) to check your mapping -but not alignment-.
Consult the local community if you are ever unsure of which layers to use. If you want to learn how to use alignments, which you don't need to do immediately as you are a relatively new user, see this wiki page:

110428641 | almost 4 years ago | Be careful when editing objects with relations. You should hold off on editing especially administrative boundaries and roundabouts until you get the hang of iD, switch to JOSM -recommended- and learn about how they work. |
109690942 | almost 4 years ago | Hey Johan, Most of this forest doesn't look that maintained and is located on a steep hillside. It may be better to use natural=wood here. Regards, Daniel |
